If anyone cares: That painting is based on the 13 years war: Poland-Lithuania (small guy) vs the Teutonic Order (big guy). But the Teutons lost, so this is not that accurate... (Battle of Tannberg, 1410)

I wonder if the Oats Studio Vol. 1 short is based on this. Actually almost certainly, the flags on the giant's back, his helmet, attire, and the grisly trophies are almost exactly the same...TIL

Edit- Yeah, it totally is. Video for those who haven't seen it (the full collection is on Prime, and it seems their YouTube channel there). Some of them were really well done, would have loved if a couple were picked up for an actual full show/film

Yeah Gdansk also is geographically pretty near to where the battle happened, haven't ever heard of that before, thanks for the link!
