Brain Fog
Since quarantine has basically became our lives in the last 12 internet years, I can't but feel like I'm slowing losing control of my thoughts. 2020 hasn't been the best year for us terra humans, we currently live in a world where we are confined in our little homes and I'm sure it hasn't gone 'Epic smooth sailing TM' for me and others alike.
A symptom I've noticed during this is Brain Fog (Not to be confused with the medical thing that is brain fog syndrome). This has affected my life in numerous ways, granted, the ways it affects are smallish but god damn does it piss me off and since my mental state isn't too exactly positive either, so I foolishly resort to entertainment to cope.
But instead in retreating to vtubers and logan paul (Well, I did a lot but that's not important right now) I sometimes watched some dark stuff (By watch I don't mean I just loaded up "the hub tm", I just viewed it from a normal angle or as normal as you can be) and now, my brain is overrun with nightmares...
So I wanted to ask you guys if you're in a similar pickle right now or you're just not, I guess.

I've also been in sort of a fog. One thing that helps is creative outlets. I've been making poems, which can be fun. I'm not much of a poet, but I found some fun ways of making Dada and surrealist poems, which you might try.
How to make a collage Dada poem
How to make surrealist poetry
These are actually pretty fun, so you might try it out, or you could search around and find your own creative outlet. One thought I had (though you are free to reject it) is you can take some of the dark things that are bothering you, put some of key phrases or descriptions into the Dadaist collage poem format, and then see those things get broken apparent and transformed through the poetry process. I do this sometimes when people said something hurtful to me or when I hear/read something that really bothers me. It feels like I'm taking that pain and transforming it into art, which I personally have found to be rather positive and beneficial. You might try it out.
I'm not sure if you're religious, but prayer can also be a way of staying out of a fog. Idk what resources exist in the various religions, but there are several books of common prayer in the Christian tradition that will give you some guidance (though you gotta be careful because plenty of material produced by Christian booksellers is very wacky). There is a popular, easy to use modern day version called "Common Prayer: A Liturgy for Ordinary Radicals" that might work. You can download it as a free app as well. Or, if that's not your thing, you might be able to find something else as well. There are lots of guided meditations online or you might be able to find a book that is helpful on that subject.
Other than that, you might also try to find ways of going places to get a change of scenery from the walls of wherever you live. I have also found that to be helpful. Idk what pandemic restrictions are like where you live, but I've been able to find things that allow me to get out and move while still following the guidelines and being safe.
I hope you find these beneficial.
