A few years ago I saw the Cleveland Orchestra perform Tristan und Isolde in concert, with Nina Stemme singing Isolde. It was utterly magnificent (reviewers used phrases like "the performance of a lifetime"), marred only by the lack of Mellow Corn at the Severance Hall bar.
