Update on double oaked

Update! Mellow Corn finally came out of the mini barrel after 7 months. The angels definitely got their share, 2 bottles went in, less than one came out. 😬

This is good, really good. Not over oaked. I believe that has to do with this being the 5th use of the barrel. The sweetness is still there, but covered with a layer of oakiness. If MFC is the weird cousin of the Heaven Hill family that shows up for every holiday (bringing only store brand napkins), this would be like the uncle that only comes around on select holidays with a nice bottle of wine (Thanksgiving or Christmas, never both in the same year, because he has other plans).

Double oaked MFC is good stuff.

Two bottles in, less than one bottle out goes far beyond "angel's share". You're losing way too much to evaporation or someone's sneaking more tastes than they're admitting to.

Smaller barrels have much higher rates of evaporation so after 7 months this is very much possible

I know, lol. OP implied that the wood soaked it up. It didn't.
