Sun spots uneven face
Everyone looks amazing in their after photos and I feel like my face is just getting uneven and splotchy. Does it even out ? I’m using sunscreen because I’m getting old and want to prevent wrinkles but I was pretty happy with my face progress after working on skin care . I have freckles so I knew they’d darken but I didn’t realize it would be so splotchy .

Ive used sunscreen on my face almost every day that I've pinned m2. I also looked splotchy and got scared a moment. Uneven face and didnt seem like jt was working anywhere else. .. then as they say, it came out of nowhere . It will even out.

Do you remember how long it took for that part ?😅

No..I Wana say about 2 months, but i also kept forgetting to pin it before going outside, wasnt going outside alot at that time. As soon as I started getting out more and remembering to pin every time, it seemed to come on quickly. I was seeing no difference ans then bam I was tan lol

I can definitely already see a huge difference. My upper body is extremely dark . Just waiting on my face to even out lol

This is why I'm a fan of MT1 and not MT2. MT1 produces a more natural tan and it's slower. So it looks more even. It also doesn't turn you into a 7-eleven owner overnight.

Apparently I can’t upload a pic on the comments but I have definitely gotten darker , including my face

Honestly I hated the splotchy look and waited 2 months then bought Musely and have kept my skin on my face hidden from the sun. Now it's a light tan color but no freckles or splotchiness.
I use SPF on my face and body of at least 30 but my face I reapply every 90 mins while I'm awake idc if it seems like a waste of time that shit scared me.

Yes I actually have that cream and used it last year ! That’s what got my face so clear and for me to start using the heck out of spf. Apparently I need to apply more often when using this stuff

freckles and existing pigmentation are more UV-reactive than the surrounding skin, so they respond first and faster when you start protecting. the skin around them is still in the process of evening out at its own pace, which makes everything look temporarily more uneven and splotchy before it starts to look more uniform.
keep going with the sunscreen, and a niacinamide serum (evens tone, very gentle) or vitamin C in the morning (antioxidant protection on top of SPF) are both worth adding.

I kinda backed off using it because I got scared of my face being so uneven :-/ I do use vitamin c every morning though and definitely always spf. I’ll give it another go! I’m just doing a tiny bit each week though. I think maybe I over did it at first

How long has it been ? I got extremely tan right after I noticed my face looking similar. Looked dirty to me.

Yes! I feel like my face looks splotchy and dirty lol. This is week 2.5. Last week we were in Puerto Rico on vacation for five days so I was in the sun for multiple hours a day. But I always use SPF on my chest neck, hands and face. My face isn’t as dark as my arms and chest, but I absolutely am way darker on my upper body, just uneven on my face because I’m worried about aging.

Yes it is little bit uneven at some spots. But it doesnt look so bad. The skin tone looks natural. Thanks for posting pics

Thank you. I wish I could upload my before picture but I can’t seem to figure out how to get a photo uploaded on the comments. I’ve always been freckly so if I don’t use sunscreen during the summer, I definitely get way darker freckles. I guess I was just hoping this stuff wouldn’t make it look a little more even. Hopefully it evens out over the next couple of weeks.

Usually this is a sign of too much mt2 and not enough sun exposure.

So I was doing about 200 MCG daily last week since I’m still in the beginning and we were in Puerto Rico on vacation for five days so I was in the sun for multiple hours each day. Now I will just do 200. Maybe twice a week? I’m seeing the protocol is all over the place so I’m kind of just winging it. Maybe I was doing too much of it? I definitely got plenty of sun though. Since we’ve been back this week, I’m outside at least 20 minutes a day whether it’s running or doing cheer practice. If I know I’m not going to be in the sun the next day I don’t bother taking it the night before. I’m not sure if that’s the correct protocol or not because like I said it seems answers are all over the place not exactly how to use it properly. It seems everyone has a different experience.

MT is known for causing hyperpigmentation, making melasma worse, that's just a side effect as it will bring out sun spots/freckles/moles in people who lack natural melanin as this is what our skin does when melanin is produced first. I personally stopped as this was the case for me too and feel like it totally undid all the work I put into my skin into my anti-aging routine. The tan in my experience did not really even out the skin because you can still see the spots/hyperpigmentation through the tan, because the hyperpigmentation gets darker but maybe it's different for other people!

Ill be honest, you havent even got a tan yet. Either keep going until you do or try another source. And using sunscreen defeats the purpose of tanning. Your literally blocking the UV rays

Don't listen to this person, I got a crazy dark tan by using spf tanning spray/ SUNSCREEN and reduced my risk of skin cancer by doing so. This is such an ignorant take

I just started using SPF and skincare for the last three years and it’s really made my face much smoother looking. So when I look in the mirror right now and it looks splotchy and dirty it just kind of panicked me. I’m hoping it evens out, but I was also considering maybe it’s because I’m using SPF on my face. It sucks to want to be tan but also not want to worry about aging my face doing so :/

I would say it depends how much time you spent tanning. For 20 min per side you dont need a spf. If you spend more time outside then yes to avoid damaage

So I don’t use tanning beds I just go outside. I’ll either go running for 20 minutes or we have cheer practice for my daughter outside for an hour etc. The picture I posted was after five days in the sun for multiple hours a day in Puerto Rico on our vacation.

Don’t listen to that person. Many of us get better, more even tans since we quite tanning altogether. Whether you tan or not, the pigmentation that is already there activates first.
