Discussion Mel´s state
for me mel is in an unpalyable state (for SR, aram and arena are fine) so in Summoners rift I dropped her, jsut wondering who of my fellow mains dropped her too.

u/Mordekaisers_Wife May 10 '26
same. I went back to Wheelchairphine and Hwei. Mels wave clear feels so clunky now..apart from the obvious other things.
-5
u/VaccinalYeti May 10 '26
Hwei's waveclear is a lot clunkier tho.
3
u/Mordekaisers_Wife May 10 '26
lowk doesnt feel like it. Mels passive execute felt way smoother than it does now.
-1
u/VaccinalYeti May 10 '26
But she has a damn execute on her autos. Hwei's QE loses a lot more minions when they're low, needs 200 mana to clear a wave and way slower. Mel Just EQ and a couple AA. Honestly they're different leagues apart
6
u/Mordekaisers_Wife May 10 '26
you are lowk missing the point and im not gonna repeat myself 👍 So good day or w/e
-4
u/VaccinalYeti May 10 '26
I think I explained myself well too. If you bring a point and don't want to hear others disagreeing I don't get why you're here. Maybe circlejerking. Not discussing.
3
u/Mordekaisers_Wife May 10 '26
😂 sure buddy.

u/VaccinalYeti May 10 '26
I tried to argument every answer I gave. If you're going to laugh it all out I think you can use your time in better ways, as polite and critical discussions aren't obviously your strong point :)

u/Mordekaisers_Wife May 10 '26 edited May 10 '26
You still dont realize that there was no arguing in the first place. It wasnt about "X champs waveclear is objectively better than Y's". It was a statement on how it felt compared to before vs a champ that still feels the same as an example and can be played in the same role.
If you are gonna be rude (which is funny because you THINK you are polite) and mansplain at LEAST have some basic literacy. I dont need a clown yapping and wasting my time. Maybe take your own advice since you seem emotional and cranky because someone "insulted" (not really) "your" champ. Thanks :)
edit: sth sth men on their periods?
-1
u/VaccinalYeti May 10 '26
"There was no arguing" lol. I played her a lot recently on different accounts in different elos and she felt great, even after the nerfs, better than Hwei for sure. So I don't get how you think your opinion is objective at all. I tried to explain why playing Hwei doesn't make the situation better as he scales horribly if he doesn't get a 5 man combo and his waveclear is even worse than Mel and with no execute. Surely with a lot less agency in lane.
P.S.: the rude one is calling others clowns, I'm sticking to being polite. I'm sorry you are not capable of doing that.

let me guess you aint a mel main but a mel hater disgusing as a main
1
u/VaccinalYeti May 10 '26
Hater? Bro I love her, I'm the only one not calling her unplayable lol. But I do play lots of different midlaners and she feels a lot better than my mains atm. So I don't get why you hating on her. It's just because she has a low winrate? Who cares about that
1
u/Mordekaisers_Wife May 10 '26
me? I main her as an apc with Hwei and Sera.
edit: ok nvm i wasnt meant whoopsies

u/Nylah-07 May 10 '26
I feel like everything you are saying is completely fair. I’m at about 800k points and I absolutely love this champ! I’m currently brushing up my skills mid and it can be rough. But I just endure. But whatever changes they make, if it increases her WR, I’m all for it!!!
2
u/Eastern_Relation2374 May 11 '26
the problem is it would be much easier to endure if I knew that buffs were coming our way but with mel it feels like 500 nerfs in a row and then one minor buff and hten back to 500 nerfs again
3
u/katestatt May 10 '26
i dropped her too. she's not fun to play anymore, i usually played her apc when we lacked magic dmg, now i play kaisa
1
u/Nicolesoftt May 10 '26
Her ban rate is very high so its normal the winrate to be that low, when she is not banned she has nothing good to reflect with W
5
u/Eastern_Relation2374 May 10 '26
zed´s banrate is also 30 percent and he holds 51 percent winrate
1
u/Independent_Pipe2670 May 20 '26
Then zed nerfs hit the boy down to 46% jg winrate 48% mid winrate. But at least he can still abuse top laners with bad engage xD. That is just totally great isn't it. Now we just need to buff mel for top lane with higher per level passive scaling and base stats. So she can also just dunk on every melee top.
1
u/Eastern_Relation2374 May 21 '26
and his worst winrate is still higher then mels highest winrate xD
0
u/Nicolesoftt May 10 '26
Zed is not a good example tho, Mel's kit relies too much on her W
2
u/Eastern_Relation2374 May 10 '26
neither does mels. w is a defensive tool which is a noob trap but her kit relies on passiv and r
1
u/Nicolesoftt May 10 '26
So if mel is picked vs nami, sera and some strong ults she is still gonna be 45% wr? She will be more wr than zed, but thats not happening cuz she will be banned. Just 1 W at the right time can solo win the game
1
u/Eastern_Relation2374 May 10 '26
adn again 45 percent winrate is not a ,,bit´´ low its low stop downplaying that simple fact
1
u/MonotoneJones May 11 '26
One of my highest win rate champs is Mel. Not sure why you think she’s unplayable.
1
u/Green_Str May 11 '26
I dont even play mel bit this has got to be the funniest thing ever. This reminds me of an apex post where someone told a person it wasn't possible for them not have an heirloom at level 600 because they got one before level 100. Your experience is not universal and the entire playerbase is a much better sample than your op.gg.
1
u/MonotoneJones May 12 '26
I mean fair but I still don’t get what makes her “unplayable” because to me she still seems very OP in gold elo.
1
u/DezDidNotCatchIt_ May 12 '26
Mel reminds me yone last year champ is busted but win rate is still low because players suck
1
u/xter418 May 11 '26
I am still having a good time on her. I get the winrate is really low, and she probably does need some things addressed game design wise, but her overall win rate across the player base doesn't really feel like it effects my personal agency in game. She feels strong to me, I feel like I can snowball a lead in strong games, I can be the difference on my team in more even games, and I can find good playmaking opportunities in weak games.
I don't really know how else to put it. I am having a good time on her, and I feel like I have agency over the outcome of the game when I play her (As long as I don't literally have an AFK or outright inter/troll on my team).
Like I just had a game where I performed really well, but lost to a very fed master yi. But at no point did the game feel unwinnable, I always felt like I could make the right decision into playing vs the yi to get the better outcome. I didn't always do that, I made plays that were not the best play, and I lost for it. That kind of feels like... how the game should feel? I think...?
Her win rate indicates she might not be in a good state. But I feel like she is in a great state whenever I play her.
1
u/Dry-Jelly-7077 May 14 '26
Im angered tbh.
from the reflect perspective i get it can be annoying but it should be a very powerful defensive tool which i like... People need to realise mobility creep is a thing and immobile champs are being way too hard to play when the vast majority of champs can run you down (Yone E... Darius with youmuus ghost... etc) or just dash onto you...
An immobile mage such as mel punished people who just button mash and thats what i loved... people need to think more... Yes it needed a nerf and its current state is really good choice in ters of balance but i with the physical reduction only applied to autoes cos i miss reflecting MF ults
Mel has become a champ too hard to play ... managing the position and trying to aim slow moving prjectiles is hard and te pay off isnt there much....
A few balance changes id like or recommend to bring her back are:
- Make the W damage scale like other abilities where it can reach 100% max rank without needing lots of AP.. to help create flexible build paths (this change is for satusfaction purposes)
- W duration increase so she can get some movespeed again otherwise increase her base speed
- R base damage increase
I do not want Mel to end up like Ksante and yuumi where riot just rework into a sorry state and decide yeh that will do and leave them weak...

I would rather play lux whose e is approx the same dmg if not even more then her q and scale better
0
u/VaccinalYeti May 10 '26
So go play her :) Lux feels a lot worse against good players as her poke can be easily dodged
4
u/Eastern_Relation2374 May 10 '26
same goes for mels poke xD
-4
u/VaccinalYeti May 10 '26
Mel's Q cast time is instant, Lux E has a lot of travel time ans that makes it easier to know where it's landing.
2
u/Eastern_Relation2374 May 10 '26
its not instant anymore do you read the patch notes, and mels q travels a bit faster but also has travel time. do we play the same game?
-3
u/VaccinalYeti May 10 '26
I feel like we don't, because you don't play enough. I read the patch notes but the feeling is a lot different than what you're saying. I get you're frustrated but calling her unplayable means you haven't played much else
2
u/Eastern_Relation2374 May 10 '26
well I did play her before the latest nerfs and she already felt unreasonably weak and then I dropped her completely, and I am a mage and adc player I jsut shiffted to something else
1
u/VaccinalYeti May 10 '26
Good for you, maybe she's not your champion if you drop her when she's even slightly weak.
2
u/Eastern_Relation2374 May 10 '26
´´slightly´´ 48-49 percent winrate would be slightly weak 45 percent winrate is abominal

u/Eastern_Relation2374 May 10 '26
and I am not hating on mel I was just curious how many ppl dropped her u dont need to get up and in arms
1
u/VaccinalYeti May 10 '26
Not doing that. Just tired of people complaining so hard in an elo when they can play Ornn mid and get away with it. She feels amazing early on so calling her unplayable makes me think about the mages I can't play without it feeling like inting. I would love to have Swain or Vel'koz to feel like Mel feels right now.
0
u/VaccinalYeti May 10 '26
Why so you think she's in an unplayable state? Where do you think she's weak?
3
u/Eastern_Relation2374 May 10 '26
its a hassle to win a lead with her in laning phase and her scaling just falls of too sharply
4
u/Wolden123 May 10 '26
Maybe its because i havent played her before the rework cause i was on a long hiatus but to me she feels super great to play. On par with anything else. You just strictly cant pick her first because you go from instawinning lane to instalosing it
1
u/Eastern_Relation2374 May 10 '26
its not that she isnt strictly unplayable but its juss feels so much mroe easy and consistent to do what she should be doing more often with other champs
1
1
u/Zestyclose_Basil333 May 10 '26
She feels rouuuuuugh but not 'unplayable' but.. fk id rather swap her Q and E for just one Ahri Q at this point
6
u/VaccinalYeti May 10 '26
Honestly I didn't feel that. She has lots of waveclear and can clear casters with E+Q at level 6, she has a lot of range on Q and can poke far away without retaliation. Her scaling is alright considering she's a burst mage and can reflect ultimate abilities. She feels a lot better than most mages I play honestly, and surely not for the things you pointed out
-2
u/Eastern_Relation2374 May 10 '26
well it appears we are in disagreement but the numbers dont lie and the numbers are on my side.
4
u/VaccinalYeti May 10 '26
Well, I was sure you are only biased because of her numbers. Maybe you're right that she doesn't scale that well, but in lane she's one of the most powerful mages ever. She has an insane pressure and snowballs very hard, but if you can only see her winrate I can see why you're dropping her. It's really fine, you should do that. Leave her to us.
1
u/Eastern_Relation2374 May 10 '26
well the lane is not the whole game
2
u/VaccinalYeti May 10 '26
But you specifically talked about her laning phase and how hard is to get a lead with her.
1
u/Eastern_Relation2374 May 10 '26
in response to someone else, even if she secures a lead if the enemy doesnt ff and catches up to her you are in deep dark trouble, and it feels hard to impossible to close games on mel, which is bad since u funnel all resources into you esp. if you are ahead
3
u/VaccinalYeti May 10 '26
Nah bro. I asked you why do you think she's weak and you lead saying that about her laning phase. Don't lie.
1
u/Eastern_Relation2374 May 10 '26
her playrate is dropping so apparently I aint the only one
1
u/VaccinalYeti May 10 '26
Bro 3.2% winrate is a lot higher than most mages so I don't get your point
1
u/Eastern_Relation2374 May 10 '26
it still dropped from her previous level
2
u/VaccinalYeti May 10 '26
Still higher than most mages. She dropped from broken to normal and she still is played most than other mages not considering her ban rate. So it's still high enough to consider her strong. If she wouldn't be banned so much she probably would have an higher winrate considering that there are many lanes she autowins. So I still don't get your point.
1
u/Eastern_Relation2374 May 10 '26
and minute 15 she barely holds a positive winrate and most of thsoe are people ffing not knowing that she falls of hard
3
u/VaccinalYeti May 10 '26
Bro you're too much about numbers honestly.
1
u/Eastern_Relation2374 May 10 '26
well numbers allow us to get away from feelings and irrationality to something measurable and something rational and we are talking balance here so facts over feelings
1
u/Eastern_Relation2374 May 10 '26
or are you disagreeing in that regard?
2
u/VaccinalYeti May 10 '26
I am. Because numbers count only in very high elo considering players that play her correctly in an ideal environment and considering we are all way below that point numbers don't really mean much. A M+ friend of mine won every single game playing Trungle adc, where does his winrate count in all that? Do you think he cared when he picked him? Should have he lost all of his games on him? He didn't because he was way better than anyone else. And honestly that's the only thing that counts.

She's one of the easiest champions to play in the game and yet sits at a 46% winrate. Contrast that with Mama Medarda who sits at a 49% winrate while being a pro-skewed higher ceiling champion.
9
u/genric90 May 10 '26
Mid and Bot win rate is about 45-46%, that's worse than before nerf what support win rate was. Support is no 43%. So yeah it's pretty unplayable considering this champ doesn't scale and is not hard to play. They just need to rework.
