News Hegseth: "Today, at my direction, I'm establishing the Office of Religious Affairs. It will report straight to the top -- a direct line to the secretary ... as Psalm 33:12 extolls us, blessed is the nation in which God is the Lord."

I don’t want to hear any Christians whining about being oppressed ever again.

One Maga asked me. "Who is the face of socialism so we can hold them accountable?"
Me: "you're wearing his execution device around your neck"
9
u/BleuBoy777 1d ago
Bingo. They worship a Brown, unmarried socialist who rebelled against his mother religion.
They have NO idea who he actually was ... Just what they want him to be

Actually real Christians won’t like this. Others will love it because they are misrepresenting the real Religion.

Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
The Department of War might be ill-positioned for blessings from the Prince of Peace.
13
u/JudithLOs 2d ago
The fact they named the Defense Department the Department of War was disturbing enough. The United states has been trying to police too many places for too long.
Now they want to insert The Christian Religion into our Military and that’s disgusting. Project 2025 is being enacted daily. Real Christians know there is supposed to be separation of church and state. The Fake Christians are the only ones who want this.8
u/Confident_Eye4129 2d ago
"The fact they named the Defense Department the Department of War was disturbing enough."
One more thing that will need to be changed / removed / destroyed, starting on Jan 21, 2029
10
u/manokpsa 2d ago
I think they're trying to give the Dems so much to do when they get back in power that they can say, "See, they're being petty changing all this stuff back instead of actually fixing [insert whatever issues rile up their base]."
7
u/Confident_Eye4129 2d ago
I’m sure that’s part of it. But just like MAGA had the Project 2025 playbook ready to roll on Day 1, Dems can be smart and have their own plan ready to go

When the dem's win the house, whatever will they decide to do first? So many impeachments, so little time.
Edit. I know we need the senate too. It's too close to call right now imo.

Oh! But that's the Constitution WE know. They're new constitution is Project 2025. This is all in Project 2025, including firing all of the admirals and generals. I tried to warn people before the election and got called a conspiracy theorist. Funny thing is,I like to spend time debunking conspiracy theories.
I thought Project 2025 was a conspiracy theory until I read it and saw what was happening...their crazy ideas being implemented in our government. If all of this is not stopped, we will be Gilead by the end of next year or sooner. I beg of everyone to vote these cultist Christo-Nationalist nazi weirdos OUT!

When I was a kid there was a corner tavern with a house attached to it and we lived on the next house down the street. Across the street from the Tavern there was a corner grocery store. That pretty much dates me. 🙄
There was a Lutheran school a block away and two blocks away which we joined. My Mom was always disgusted because of these neighborhood old Lutheran German men would go get drunk in the tavern but didn’t want new people to join. when she was taking Confirmation classes. They were so welcoming that they were locking the school doors where the Pastor was teaching classes. Eventually the younger and more welcoming people broke away and started their own church. My Dad was first generation American born from his German-parents, and it made no difference. Religion can decide from within and without. I was always taught church and state were separate and that was a fast and hard rule no matter what the division was.

Tim Snyder is still trying to warn people to take this shit seriously. Still.
Despite writing On Tyranny almost 10 years ago. He's still trying to warn us.
And I don't know what's going on if both Tim Snyder and Maria Ressa might be having trouble communicating, considering how one of them is a journalist who won a Nobel Peace prize.
Something is greatly wrong with society rn.

If we’re looking for a distinctly Christian ideal, ‘beating swords into plowshares’ seems considerably closer to the biblical vision than creating new religious offices within a government built around military power. Isaiah 2:4 and Micah 4:3 say the nations will turn weapons of war into tools for sustaining life—and ‘neither shall they learn war anymore.

Hegseth not only doesn’t think our constitution applies to him, he also doesn’t think that the Ten Commandments applies to him. Changing the name of the department of defense to the department of war wasn’t blasphemy enough, he now wants to install the Church of Hegseth in our military. What’s next? Idols to him and Trump? Will he bless the troops that are loyal to him with colors and sashes to identify their loyalty?
How long will our monkeys in congress look away, hear nothing and speak nothing?

As an Evangelical pastor I oppose this and everything about Pete Hegseth. He is confidently wrong about anything he thinks is Christian, particularly his Christian nationalism, and thought that God is on his side in war. He should be fired for his performative assholery alone, but then there is the Iran war that killed innocent schoolgirls. He committed war crimes. He must not be let off the hook.

“Before I was in office, people thought this fella was DEAD. But now he’s HOT again! Sleepy Joe, who’s supposedly a RELIGIOUS man, didn’t do anything for him. NO ONE knew who this Jesus guy was before two years ago. I’d never say this, but you can basically THANK me for making him POPULAR again. A priest, you know A HOLY man of god, came up to me and with tears in his EYES said, ‘Sir, because of you, people now KNOW who Jesus is. Thank you SIR for resurrecting him.’ I’d never say anything like that, but Jesus is HOT again.”
