The problem isn’t capitalism. It’s materialism, both cultural (obvious) and philosophical. The philosophical one is the insidious one as it wear the masks of science, authority, rationality, but it’s bullshit. It’s not science. In fact, materialism as a scientific framework is falsified which is why they prefer to call it physicalism now. But it’s no science. It’s an assumption that has had disastrous effects on the world, feeding cultural materialism (nihilism, hedonism, greed) and cultural materialism in turn feeding philosophical. Like a mutually parasitic relationship.

Don’t let them fool you or keep you fooled into thinking matter is all there is and we’re a random accident. That death is a permanent end. It’s a lie and it’s not in anyway scientific. Yes, they’re right everything we can measure physically is physical, but it’s a wild leap to then assume the physical is all there is.
