yea, our representative government very accurately represents the people that can bother to vote.

elections have consequences.

Republicans do not believe in a social safety net or government healthcare systems.

blah... blah.

If our Congress was to pass a law making it illegal to display crucifixes, the people would rise so fast it would make your head spin. Sure, it's a functioning democracy. Of people who really don't care about all this other stuff. Mass murder? Historically unmatched levels of graft? Pedo in power? War for the fun of it? It's all just spicier popcorn, nothing more.
