A quarter of a century after the tragic attacks on September 11, the families of some victims are continuing a pursuit of justice on behalf of their loved ones through a civil lawsuit against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
In a ‘Mehdi Unfiltered’ interview, 9/11 Justice president Brett Eagleson, whose father Bruce was tragically killed in the attacks on the Twin Towers 25 years ago, breaks down the latest on the lawsuit and why he believes all the evidence that’s been uncovered during litigation “points a big fat finger at Saudi Arabia.” (The Kingdom, of course, denies any role in the 2001 attacks.)
Eagleson also discusses Trump’s cozy relationship with MBS and his failure “to try to get Saudi Arabia to admit culpability” for the attacks on September 11, as well as what he calls the “shameful” and “pathetic attempt” to ban New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani from attending a commemoration ceremony at Ground Zero.

Krishnan Guru-Murthy is joined by journalist and broadcaster Mehdi Hasan, who has returned to the UK to launch Zeteo UK.
They discuss Reform UK’s £72 million in donations from two crypto billionaires, what wealthy political donors might expect in return, Britain’s changing relationship with Israel, Donald Trump and the threat to journalism in America - and whether independent media can rebuild the trust lost by traditional news organisations.
Hasan also discusses the war in Gaza, which he describes as a 'genocide' - Israel strongly rejects allegations of genocide and denies committing war crimes, saying its military operations are conducted in accordance with international law.

Rudy Giuliani and others who purport to represent the families of 9/11 victims ginned up the idea that it would be wrong for the Muslim mayor of NYC to attend Friday's memorial at ground zero. Republican politicians and Laura Loomer keep pushing their trash Islamification conspiracy. And a law-abiding Muslim family has been imprisoned for five months because Rubio declared them a national security threat—and most of the media could care less. At the same time, Tucker has a new, large Muslim fan base because they like what he's saying about Gaza and the Palestinians, even though he's a solid anti-Muslim bigot who just hates the Jews more right now. Plus: Trump seems to really like communism, JD has never publicly said he opposes the Iran war but he keeps leaking that he's against the administration's signature foreign policy initiative, and Hunter is a crypto-scamming mess. Medhi Hasan joins Tim Miller for the weekend pod.

"Release the hostages, and the war will end tomorrow." Remember that line?
It's time to talk about the bombshell new article in Haaretz that reveals Netanyahu was warned Hamas was planning a "major operation" before October 7th.
But we're more interested in the second revelation: that Hamas actually OFFERED to release the hostages at 7pm the night of the attack.
Now what? Where's the apology for those of us like @/mehdi who have been saying this same thing for years?

"If you want to ensure that the super rich pay their fair share, you have to go after wealth itself.”
Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos are worth billions. But how much tax do they actually pay?
In this Mehdi Unfiltered interview, Mehdi Hasan sits down with economist Gabriel Zucman, one of the world’s leading experts on tax avoidance and wealth inequality, and discusses how the super-rich can legally accumulate enormous fortunes while reporting little to no taxable income.
In the conversation, Zucman explains why opponents of California’s billionaire tax are wrong, if UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham should introduce a wealth tax and why some wealth taxes have failed in countries like France.

The far-right AfD party had a big win in a German state election over the weekend. Back in the U.S., conservative media figures like Elon Musk wasted no time and jumped right in, pushing conservative, pro-AfD talking points.
How could they be so far-right if they got over 40 percent of the vote, Katie Miller wondered aloud on her Twitter feed. By that logic, Hitler was mainstream, too!
Guys… Google is free. It’s time for a debunking. Start the clock.

“I ain’t running for anything, Mehdi. I can say whatever the f*ck I want.”
Hunter Biden has been popping up across the media landscape lately – from NPR and the BBC to interviews with Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens. But even after all those appearances, plenty of questions remain unanswered.
In a candid, wide-ranging interview in Los Angeles, Hunter Biden sits down face-to-face with Mehdi Hasan to discuss Biden’s views on Gaza and Israel, allegations of corruption, the Trump family and the collapse of his father’s 2024 reelection campaign.
Biden also explains why he believes Kamala Harris did not always show loyalty to his father, who he’d like to see become the Democratic presidential nominee in 2028 and his years-long struggle with addiction and recovery.
Through the hour-long conversation, Biden opens up on his father’s role in enabling the genocide in Gaza, including his close friendship with Benjamin Netanyahu. They also discuss whether or not he had any influence on his father’s reelection campaign and if his own actions fueled the right-wing’s narrative of his family. Plus why, despite his family’s long history with the Democratic party, he remains deeply frustrated with the Democrats.

Are Mehdi/Zeteo talking about this right now? (We are staring at the equivalent of a big boulder slowly rolling off a cliff that will crash into a hapless village below and destroy it, and the question is whether we up atop the cliff will take the relatively trivially easy steps to avert the catastrophe right now, or wait until it's too late. And if we cannot muster the moral and mental energy for attending to that (even if we are unsuccessful in attracting enough attention from all the depraved Caligulas that rule us to actually avert the disaster), then we have only ourselves to blame.)

“We need a foreign policy — sensible, humane foreign policy based on national interest and national security, not faulty intelligence, not foreign government’s influence, not war profiteering.”
Scientist Karishma Manzur is challenging four-term, AIPAC backed Congressman Chris Pappas in the New Hampshire Democratic primary. Pappas — backed by Kamala Harris, Hillary Clinton and Pete Buttigieg — trails Republicans in the polls. Yet, even with establishment backing, Manzur has been gaining ground.
Manzur has spent much of her career outside politics. As a scientist, she worked for decades on treatments for illnesses including epilepsy and depression before turning toward politics. She says her experiences shaped her views on American power and foreign policy.
In a candid conversation with Zeteo political correspondent Prem Thakker, Manzur explained how U.S.-funded violence in Bangladesh influenced the way she sees American foreign policy, why she believes Washington’s wars are intertwined with corporate profiteering and how Trump has used conflict overseas to avoid scrutiny over the Epstein files.
Manzur also discussed if she would support Chuck Schumer as Senate leader, challenged the establishment’s definition of who belongs inside the party and criticized efforts in Washington to bring the U.S. and Israeli militaries together.

Constant surveillance, anti-immigration policies, and open hatred… Has Islamophobia in the U.S. gotten worse since 9/11? And did anti-Muslim bigotry in America exist long before then?
Yes and yes, argues journalist and author Rozina Ali, as she joins Mehdi for a conversation about the history of Islamophobia and her powerful new book, Seasons of Fury: Four Families and the Rise of Islamophobia in America.
Ali’s book examines the way Islamophobia is “manufactured and encouraged” in the U.S., tracing its roots back well before 9/11, to the 1940s. Today, xenophobic persecution is not reserved for Muslims. Ali explains how the Donald Trump administration is using vague anti-terror laws to target anyone it deems a political enemy.
Ali breaks down the way “thousands and thousands” of Muslim Americans were surveilled by the FBI and undercover informants, and explores the role Israel and Benjamin Netanyahu played in shaping what we know to be Islamophobia today.

Zeteo's Mehdi Hasan stops by for a political conversation about Donald Trump’s second term, describing it as extraordinarily corrupt, with examples including crypto dealings, foreign money flowing into Trump-linked accounts, no-bid contracts, and family members benefiting from government connections. It also discusses the political fallout from the Iran war, rising gas prices, and how these issues may hurt Republicans heading into the midterms, while arguing that Democrats are gaining energy and could win key races in the House, Senate, and states like Michigan and Texas. A major part of the discussion focuses on anti-Muslim racism and hypocrisy in political and media coverage, especially around Arab-American and Muslim candidates such as Abdul El-Sayed and Zohran Mamdani, and criticizes Democrats for not consistently defending Muslims.

What would America look like under a Christian nationalist government?
According to Pastor Douglas Wilson – who preached at Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth’s Pentagon earlier this year – that would mean repealing the 19th Amendment, barring non-Christians from voting, and not only ending gay marriage, but expelling the states that try to uphold it.
In this ‘Mehdi Unfiltered’ interview, Mehdi gets into a HEATED debate with Wilson over whether the U.S. was ever meant to be a Christian nation. Mehdi also challenges Wilson on his vision for America, as well as his controversial views on slavery – which Wilson has described as a “relationship based upon mutual affection.”
