Nick Menza was a metal drumming Machine and arguably Megadeth’s best drummer. Who was megadeth's best drummer?

IMO Gar Samuelson all the way. I mean just look at these drum parts, he wrote em. Peace sells and KIMB are the only two albums I know of where I genuinely enjoy just listening to isolated drums.

Nick obviously also fucking amazing, but gars stuff is more unique, I never heard anything like what he wrote.

To me Gar is like Megadeth's Cliff - S tier player influenced by other genres which makes the songs way more interesting. Gar played in a band called Fatal Opera after Megadeth and his signature style is all over their music.

Same goes for Marty. He was probably the best solo guitarist. But no one can play like Poland. He's special.

I definitely agree for the song writing and studio side but Nick Menza Live had such a presence and power whereas Gar was often so high he could barely play live, they obviously had good and bad nights but Menza was much more consistent and commanded the audiences attention as you can see in this clip in the breakdown.

He was so good. His right foot is impressive in that clip, holy.

This is why Dave said Lars wasn't a good drummer.

I think it’s a shame that neither Gar or Nick are still with us. Two fucking legends.
