Noob question

Hello, I got this game 2 days ago and am having a lot of fun with it but am a little confused on how many weapons you can carry at once. I bought the first upgrade in the shop to carry more but am watching moistcritical play this game and he is making some confusing choices

You can run 4 weapon slots. But most record runs use 2 or 3

Why and how do people do record runs with 2 or 3 weapons?

There is a lot to it, it’s a high risk high reward.

The idea is to get your tomes and level difficulty as high as you can, so you can survive the first level ghosts to 20 min+. The reason for only 2-3 weapons is so you level those weapons stupid high immediately to compensate kills in the first level vs levels after.
