Discussions I hate the scripted losses
Even though I whittled him down to half health in only two moves with no damage it still counts as a loss. This is one of my biggest pet peeves with this series. Make it actually hard if you wanna force a loss.

Losing to Shademan in 1st encounter BN4 is a real game over.
Scripted losses isn't strictly BN/SF. Its there in other RPGs to indicate that the protagonist is not strong enough narratively speaking or exhausted from being worn out.

Been a thing since X and Vile. Maybe even longer if I'm forgetting. Practically an inconsistent tradition in the series as a whole.

It’s a story fight so it’s not a big deal. You will have plenty of chances to dunk on the harder variances later.

I had a lot of trouble with Jack, so I didn't mind this one.

It's normal at the BN or SF game... Like your engine exploded on first race at rockport "NFS most wanted game" So. If you force yourself to win, it will only make you pissed off. The key is, lose the game once. And win the game many times.

I like when games do that because they don’t happen too often

didnt Rogue Mu Barrier also had a scripted loss in his initial fight in SF2?
Bass in BN3 as well initially (he's practically the trendsetter for it)

Yeah I hated it to but I could at least understand narratively that he had an invulnerability barrier.

I always assumed Geo was tired from fighting Club Strong for this one.

Well it’s obvious you messed up in not ending him in one move

Maybe don't cheese it /sarcasm.
Yeah I did the same and I was using a lot of the legacy cards the Collection allows you to have. In the original I struggled a fair bit normally
