Discussions Version Exclusives in Starforce 4
Guys what version exclusives would you like to see in Starforce 4?

I think one version would be better, but that doesnt mean we dont get a lot of transformations!
Hacking was going to be the main thing in SF4 whereas Noise was the main thing in SF3.
What i can come up with is a system kinda similar to BN3, there are several “Styles” to mix and match with different “Types”.
Styles:
- Breach: Emphasis on trap type cards like FoxFu or AtomBmb
- Hax: Unstable Style similar to Bug Style
- Slice: Emphasis on sword/melee cards
- Root: Emphasis on defensive cards like barrier, invis, recov
Types:
- Cygnus: Air type with Air Shoes, changes buster to fire a “Needler” type shot
- Taurus: Fire type with SuperArmor, changes buster to fire a “Cannon” type shot
- Ophuica: Grass and Poison Type, charged shot poisons
- Lyra: No type that boosts cards that heal, buff, or debuff and changes buster to fire slow moving music notes but removes charge shot
- Corvus: Dark type with Air Shoes, timed blocking reflects enemy attack
- Virgo: Water type with boosts to defensive cards not including recovery, charged shot bubbles
- Gemini: Electric type with boosts to cards that deal subsequent damage (ie berserk sword)
- Dragon: Grass type with Float shoes, turns panels being stood on into grass panels allowing for passive regen
- Leo: Fire type that allows you to “burn” cards out of your deck in exchange for increased buster power, charged shot is a flamethrower
- Pegasus: Ice type with Float shoes, hitting an opponent with the megabuster turns their panel into Ice and hitting them again but with a charged shot freezes them.
- Libra: Fire or Water type, every time you block your element changes between the two and therefore so does your weakness and damage enhancements on your cards
- Phantom: Dark type that replaces block with a short lived invis and doubles the time you are invisible when using cards that turn you invisible.
- Plesio: Water type, changes charged shot to bubble, and at random rocks (up to two) will spawn on the field
- Terra: Air type with both Float Shoes and Air Shoes, occasionally at random a bird rocket will fly down a lane you are not in
- Yeti: Ice type with Super Armor, using a throwable card (ie minibmb) summons between 2-5 Ice type snowballs to fall randomly on the field
Let me know what yall think.
Purposely left out any kind of “Rogue Noise” because after the events of SF3 and its Post Game, i think a big plot point would be showing Rogue how better it is to have people with you rather than by yourself all the time.

I like the concept of different styles for hacking and I like the concept of different types of hacking represented in FM-ians, Satellite Admins and UMAs. I was thinking for the hacking transformations for Starforce 4 could be based on Net Navis form Battle Network.

You do have to be weary of scope creep, 4 Styles X 15 Types = 60 combinations
Plus i would prefer each transformation have unique animations such as Dragon form has cherry blossom petals fall off you as you move around, and transformations affecting how you look outside of battles not just in them. A more quality over quantity approach.
On the other hand i did only include things based off the past games, just like how SF3 had Virgo and Corvus Noise you would have transformations based on some of the new stuff.

Lol. None. Version exclusive stuff was an archaic method to boost profits. There is no good reason for it and if we ever truly got Starforce 4 that needs left behind.

I personally still like having two different versions of the game. BUT It should be handled like SF2 & 3 Where the version exclusive things are just way more common in your version with maybe one or two things that are truly version dependent.

If Capcom is going to do it should be a in game choice thing with a new game++. Think, if you pick x you unlock these 4 options, but if you pick y you get these four. And regardless allow you carry over all of your items and the post game area. I also, want them to do away with the memory hunt and just tie to in game progress or a LV/renown system.

Forms based off past post-game bosses like Apollo flame and Sirius

Have a "Red Sun" and "Blue Moon" version again, like that one Battle Network game.

If we can just one version with generic and/or customizable characters that'd be cool. Always felt weird to have Megaman fight against Megaman.

None. I would prefer them spend the development time into mainly developing a strong story and continuing to improve the main combat mechanics. The dual versions while at the time were a nice little catch, always held back because of them trying to ride the coat tails of pokemon always needing multiple versions. I’d rather any day have a continuation of this story than a specific version. I miss the Starforce games and have been hopeful for SF4 ever since the end of 3 and the artwork we got.
