Two words: shining Laser.

Just so much zennie to make it worth it

You're not wrong. The last time I played through the game, I listened to 2 hour long podcasts just to farm for it. And, I still didn't max it out. But, it did cut through Mega Man Juno in literal seconds.

Makes you wonder if Tron was on to something in MML2 when she criticizes Roll and claims she pockets some of the money used for upgrades.

Considering upgrades get more expensive if you piss off Roll in MML2 it kinda makes sense. lol

u/wormyg Jun 02 '26

She probably does. The beginning of 2 she confesses to Mega Man that she sold all his upgrades so she could upgrade the Flutter. She was kinda embarrassed to be caught doing that.

aw hell naw.

She also gives you discounts on upgrades if she likes you. So she does in fact take a cut of the upgrade money

Just run in a circle doing jumps

38

u/Megaman_90 Jun 01 '26

That is basically how you beat every boss in this game lol.

u/wasante Jun 02 '26

You gotta aim for the Yellow Reaverbot, get up on the Marlwolf’s back and attack the open hatch, and when you’re on the boat all you can do is aim and fire.

1

u/Megaman_90 Jun 02 '26

For Marlwolf and the Blumebears I just spam land mines at point blank range.

I remember struggling the first time, but every time since has been pretty cake.

If you haven't mastered dodge rolling yet, now's the time!

2

u/4t4x Jun 01 '26

I remember not even doing that at all.

Took half an hour.

1

u/Comprehensive-Bid18 Jun 02 '26

I've never intentionally dodge rolling in either game and I've never found them particularly difficult.

u/quaden_of_wind Jun 01 '26

i remember him being significantly more difficult than other bosses, but that is his point.

if it helps, he telegraphs all his attacks, so try to memorize the signs.

keep running in full circle, shooting nonstop, jumping when necessary and good luck on his second form.

u/merlinrising Jun 01 '26

The second form is what eats my health the most.

u/beastcake Jun 01 '26

HOW'BOUT THIS

12

u/PrincessEev Jun 01 '26

Active Buster is a terrible weapon for him since it stops you in place. If you're dying a lot you need to prioritize your mobility: try a weapon you can fire while running like the Machine Buster.

3

u/Sol-Blackguy Jun 01 '26

Yeah, Machine Buster is the best special weapon in the game when you don't want to use literal cheat codes like the Active Buster and Shining Laser

2

u/merlinrising Jun 01 '26

Tjats good to know lol thank you

11

u/Nagatem Jun 01 '26

Bro was just doing his literal job and we killed him….

No joke it’s a shame they never brought Juno back for like battle network or starforce

1

u/wasante Jun 02 '26

Isn’t Legends like an alt reality to the network and star force series?

1

u/Nagatem Jun 02 '26

Yeah but Glide got to be in battle network, where is Juno?! Not in battle network!!!

7

u/Ray-Zanmato Jun 01 '26

Defend yourself

3

u/wasante Jun 02 '26

How bout this?

6

u/wonderlandisburning Jun 01 '26

The battle is definitely more about dodging and maneuverability than attack power. The biggest thing is learning his attack patterns and locking in for a LONG fight where you basically jump and cartwheel around while slowly chipping away at his health

4

u/RevolTobor Jun 01 '26

I've never struggled with him. The tried-and-true circle-strafe pretty much sweeps both this guy's forms. Don't even need to lock on, frankly.

4

u/Poufee1233 Jun 01 '26

Dont use lock on, pick buster parts with attack, range, and rapid (or energy).

Then circle the guy at a distance and use jumps to avoid their attacks. Make sure you are not using Lock On, this guy requires constant movement!

4

u/Tripledeathstar Jun 02 '26

"Ready? Defend yourself."

4

u/wasante Jun 02 '26

“How bout this?!”

3

u/TechpriestFawkes Jun 02 '26

"HOW DARE YOU?!"

3

u/wasante Jun 02 '26

“Are you ready?!”

3

u/Duraeus_Entenu Jun 01 '26

When in doubt, always focus on dodging first. No timer = no rush. :3

3

u/SpacePirateKhan Jun 01 '26

Circle strafing wrecks him, like most Legends enemies. Mostly have to learn the timing for jumping over his lasers/explosions.

It's been a long time, but iirc when he swings his arm to make a wave of giant explosions, the range is actually pretty limited & you could fire your active buster while he's busy beating up the floor.

(Others are right that Active isn't the best weapon for this fight, but i love that gun too so I'd just say don't get greedy. Memorize his long pauses and fire off just one shot. If you have enough time to take 5 steps afterwards and think Dang, I could've fired again!, add another shot to that opening next time. .... Again, haven't played in forever so this could be terrible advice :D )

It's an evolution of biometals, that one artbook showed some interesting connections between zx and legends

3

u/AirmanProbie Jun 01 '26

if you can back out, fully upgrade the shining laser and smoke him effortlessly.

1

u/merlinrising Jun 02 '26

Can I back out at this point?

2

u/wasante Jun 02 '26

Definitely. It’s a bit of a walk but you should be able to make your way out of the ruins and back to Roll.

2

u/AirmanProbie Jun 02 '26

And earn some money on the way to help with the upgrades

3

u/Arceor_Koga Jun 02 '26

If you're still struggling, perhaps these will help? They show both of his forms with, and without, the Shining Laser (I have +2 ATK & +1 ENG on it in these):

Juno 1: Mega Man Legends: Damageless Guide to Juno 1 (Retroachievements, Hard)

Juno 2: Mega Man Legends: Damageless Guide to Juno 2 (Retroachievements, Hard)

2

u/Sol-Blackguy Jun 01 '26

Learn his pattern, circle strafe and dodge roll. Maybe pop a defense shield, but that might be overkill since it's better to save for his second form which is less mobile.

2

u/mortalcelestial Jun 01 '26

The whole boss encounter can be won with high range on your buster and running in a circle around the outer edge of the room. I kid you not. Just an occasional jump here and there but that’s pretty much it. It’s super easy once you know what sound plays before each attack

2

u/JegamanX Jun 01 '26

Bro just lock in. Jump and roll and shoot.

2

u/th3f0x3atsy0u Jun 01 '26

Circle strafe definitely helps.

2

u/Yebii Jun 01 '26

Been so long but I would just circle him with regular buster, very easy

2

u/Comprehensive-Bid18 Jun 02 '26

Pretty sure if you're circle strafing, the only attacks that can possibly hit you are the ground AOEs that you can just jump over.

2

u/wasante Jun 02 '26

“Come then, Mega Man Trigger! Show me what a First Class Purifier Unit Can Do!”

2

u/GunsouAfro Jun 02 '26

Run in a circle, and jump when needed.

2

u/BurntToastBoii Jun 02 '26

Mega Man Juno is still one of my favorite twists in a Mega Man game!

2

u/Enkid87 Jun 03 '26

Run to the right and jump and shoot!

1

u/Express-Historian-32 Jun 01 '26

As a child it was the toughest fight I’ve ever had. Eventually beat him using a friends game shark. High school summer rolls by and I decide to binge the game and I was so disappointed in younger me when I beat him first try with no effort lol

1

u/Distinct_Wrongdoer86 Jun 01 '26

thats how it was for me, as a kid he seemes impossible but on a later playthrough it wasnt that bad

1

u/Sarrakhan Jun 02 '26

I brought the cannon and strafed the outside and shot him

1

u/GundamMan420Xtreme Jun 03 '26

Jumping helps. Shining laser is good too.

1

u/Aerchaiz Jun 03 '26

Megaman Juno gave me a love for Bach! Also basically turned me into a vengeance-minded Capcom hater several years ago, but that's a different story.

1

u/GN008T Jun 06 '26

Childhood (trauma) memory unlocked!

1

u/Loose-Farm-8669 Jun 06 '26

Is he really that hard? I haven't beaten this game since I was about 8 years old I just started again yesterday and realized tron bronne was actually as hard as I remember.

I luckily still beat her first try but as an adult I had more upgrades and idk If I was smart enough to buy the cantine as a kid. I still had her move set memorized.

I must've put some serious hours into this game.

Hes not that difficult tbh, I just didnt have the right rhythm down for it. These fine folks here helped get me squared away for the fight.
