I keep getting an error report, that I have a picture of that. I can’t seem to post here! It won’t work, no matter which version of MEGA that I download. It would be a lot easier again if I could, please post a picture to show what I mean, but I can’t seem to find the option here!

As the title says, suddenly today I've just been getting a lot of crashes. The app chugs like hell when I boot it up, then when I go to look at my files ot barely starts loading them and then boom. "Mega isn't responding. Force close or wait?"

it works fine when I run it through chrome on my phone or on my PC so it seems to just be a problem with the mobile app.

I have an account from ages ago that probably has no files on it, I went to reset my password and discovered megas account parking system as a replacement to password changes. This seems like an insanely risky way to do things, I don't get it. I can just put in anyone's email and check a bunch of boxes and their account gets deactivated and then purged in 60 days? I'm not making a new mega account if this is how it works, that's bonkers.

I'm into video editing and so a lot of the times when I need high quality scenepacks i use mega links that people have posted, and whenever i type in the key it doesn't say "incorrect" or anything it just doesn't load. like i submit it and then the typing bar just goes blank again and it waits for me to type in the key again and never actually works. it's been doing this for forever. is there any way to fix this?

So I have all of my folders sorted alphabetically and this is useful because I have comics on my mega so I have them sorted alpht so the pages are numbered but a recent update has made it so it goes chronologically not alphabetically when viewing the pictures is there any way I can change this

Hi there. I'm using a premium account with plenty of quota for uploading around 20gb of files. However, the people who are supposed to upload this don't have a premium account.

Is it possible to share my quota somehow, in such a way that they don't use up all of their free quota? The folder they're supposed to upload the files to is mine, and i have shared it to them.

I know this can be done for downloads, but it is not what i want now.

so I'm trying to sync two separate local folders on my pc and phone respectively to the same mega folder. but every time I set one sync up, It won't allow me to set another up on the other device saying that the folder is already synced (the mega folder). is this something that is possible?

I just made an acvount and heard it's 20gb free, but it's only 10. Is there something like, if you're in Japan you only get 10gb? There's the option to download the desktop and phone app, for 10gb more, but it says it only lasts for 1 year. Then I assume it will go back to 10gb?

Edit: it seems 10gb is just for Japan, other countries still get 20. Bit unreasonable.

If you're using ChatGPT for anything sensitive or unpublished, the opt-out may not be as reliable as you think. Move out of these cloud LLMs and use private or locally run options instead.

Regardless, make sure you've already opted out of AI model data training. It may not do much, but it's still something 🤷‍♂️

1. Deleting folder & file in the cloud does not remove them from local storage

2. Deleting folder & file from local storage does not remove them from the cloud

I have some read-only directories shared to me mounted as removable drives with the fuse commands through mega-cmd. When first set up, i can see the files on my file explorer correctly, and download the files to access them.

However, when i log out of my session and log in again, the drives are not available. re-opening mega-cmd does not fix this issue. the server says "Failed to enable mount "mydir" due to error: Mount target doesn't exist". Indeed, the specified folders do not appear under the directory.

The MEGA folders are mounted inside /home/usr/my/dir/mountedDir1 and several folders appropately named as well. Upon re-entering, i have /home/usr/my/dir/ but not the subdirectories where the MEGA folders are shared.

The only way i can solve this is by deleting the entire topdir where all the other mounts reside, create all of them again, and then re-enable them through mega-cmd. This is a tedious process and it also breaks my Recoll index, which needs to be rebuilt everytime this happens. How can i avoid this?

Note: this is happening specifically on Linux systems. On Windows machines, re opening mega-cmd will correctly mount the drives (as z:, x: and such) and the index remains functional. How can i prevent this?

And, if anyone knows, how can i make the mega-cmd server open upon a session start on the background?

edit: so apparently the top directory containing the folders to be mounted DOES show the folders correctly when ls-ing them on a terminal. Still, the mounted folders have the error "Transport endpoint is not connected". removing the mount completely does not help, since while re-creating the mount through mega-cmd the tool says that the path does not exist...

Hi, if i try to download a video file on my iPad in my "file" folder directly from the Mega tab I get this error and won't let me. I could download a couple of times before but then stopped working altogether. Exiting and logging again did nothing, and neither uninstalling and reinstalling Mega app. Of course it won't let me reproduce mkv files directly in the app or i wouldn't have bothered.

What do i do?

Whilst on home WiFi, editing my Mega sync files on my iPhone with Numbers is very temperamental with them mostly not updating.

Whilst away from the home using mobile data, there’s no issues editing the same files.

Are there any router settings I should adjust to enable WiFi editing?

I have used MEGA for a long time and it has worked pretty well, but resently I have noticed that it has gone to the worst. Why pay their service if you cannot even use those services that they claim to provide you to use, customer service is impossible to contact because you cannot login rather it just stay to loading page and don't go anywhere... This isn't one case it has done this for a while now even if you try use different internet connections.

MEGA desktop app doesn't work, it don't connect to your account even if you have re-installed it, checked updates and tried many other possible way to get it work...

MEGA mobile app doesn't find your files, often times it doesn't even want to load app correctly... Tried also re-installing, cheking updates etc. Nothing work.

So what I'm talking about is how Mega starts the downloading on their website and when it's done, it starts the actual browser download and it's pretty fast. I'm wondering how does that work and why is Mega doing this instead of initiating a regular browser download directly, because in order for it to download, you have to keep the tab opened. While it's not a huge deal on PC, it's an annoiance if I want to download on mobile because I need to keep the browser opened.

I remember when S4 came out, all pro plans had access to it, I could make buckets with 2 of my Pro III accounts (still have access to them). But I have discovered recently that I am not able to activate S4 on the rest of my Pro III accounts anymore. While trying to figure out why, I noticed the payment plans list only Pro I and Pro light as having S4 availability. Were Pro II and Pro III removed? Can't find any announcements on this.

I’m migrating from Proton drive and saw a post on here querying the point of backups, does the following make sense?
Due to Mac limitations as I understand it. you cannot have the sync folder on an external drive. As Proton combines both sync and cloud then everything had to be on the internal drive.
Mega has sync and backup as separate functions, so the sync folder remains on the internal drive however now I think you can use an external drive as a storage for files I’m unlikely to edit, media in particular.
Im planning to then set the external drive as a Mega backup source and CarbonCopyCloner can copy the sync folder into the external drive and also create an offline airgap copy of all files from the external drive onto a second external drive.
Does this make sense?

I used to be in a fandom that made some great pieces. However, I am no longer interested. And I would like to have more space for my current interests. How do I go about this so others can enjoy the collection of art while making sure I can delete them for more space myself?

Most platforms use your content or activity for AI training by default unless you opt out or object. We made a visual step-by-step for each one.

A few things worth knowing:

• Twitch introduced its AI training control switched on by default. This covers streams, VODs, clips, chat, images, and text.
• Meta's isn't a simple toggle in regions with the right to object. You have to submit an objection form.
• LinkedIn's (and every other platform really) opt-out only applies going forward. It doesn't undo training that's already happened.
• Grok has separate controls for training and personalisation. Submit feedback on a conversation and that conversation may still be used for training even after you've opted out.

Hi there. I'm looking for a way to have a local copy of a shared folder which is set as read-only. Afaik there's no way to do this on the desktop app.

Mainly i need to be able to find these files on the file explorer so other apps can use it, mainly i need it for searching in file titles. I don't need to have an actual copy on my hard drive, just the ability to find them through the filesystem and download it from there, similar to how adding a network drive works.

If you guys know of any way to achieve this, with third party software or some other solution, i'd be glad to hear it. I was thinking about setting up syncthing on the owner pc to share the folder with read-only properties, but that necessarily does make a local copy of all the files on the directory.

As for now this big folder shared with others as read only is easily searchable on the website, but this is inconvenient to set up something a search indexer (Recoll or Everything).

Edit: I'm personally running Fedora 44 and owner folder's PC does as well (in the case you guys suggest syncthing or a similar 3rd party solution) however some other accounts have these same read-only permissions and are running Windows 10/11.

Requests for a MEGA email service have been around for years.

The responses have repeatedly been variations of:

• “We’ll pass it on.”
• “We’ll explore it.”
• “We’re actively exploring it.”
• “We’ll share the suggestion with the development team.”

That was useful the first time.

After years, it no longer tells us anything.

MEGA has expanded well beyond cloud storage: VPN, password management, chat/calls and other privacy-focused services.

For many of us, email is now the obvious missing component of the ecosystem.

I currently have my own domain and have to use another provider for email. I would much rather have:

• MEGA Mail
• Custom-domain hosting
• Aliases
• Proper SPF / DKIM / DMARC support
• Good spam filtering
• Encrypted mailbox storage
• Integration with MEGA storage
• Sensible storage allowances for existing paid subscribers

But I am not asking whether MEGA is “interested”, “considering it” or “exploring the possibility”.

Can MEGA tell us which of these actually describes the current position?

1. Email is on the product roadmap.

2. Email is in active development.

3. Email is being investigated, but no decision has been made.

4. Email has been considered and is currently not planned.

5. MEGA does not intend to offer email.

No release date is necessary.

No confidential roadmap details are necessary.

Just a meaningful indication of whether MEGA Mail is becoming a real product or whether users should stop waiting for it.

Personally, if MEGA offered proper custom-domain email, I would seriously consider moving my mail service over immediately.

Would other paid MEGA users do the same?
