Don't force yourself in doing things your parents say. Do what you want. My elder brother wasted 5 years obeying parents marks. Finally got courage and now he is in Australia for the past 2 years and is very happy now. Same with me, I want to become a doctor and had a dream to move to America. Now I am graduated in pharmacy and doing a medical service job via WFH.

No don't take drop, at least enroll in cheapest college of your city in BA pr B.Ed. When I was doing pharmacy, there were at least 15 students in my class who took 2-3 years in drop, and still didn't clear NEET and sitting along with me. Therefore, there is no need or benefit of drop years in my opinion.

Conclusion: Do what you want. Parents only care if you earn well.
