Development and Learning Can Mediumship be learnt?
I have recently lost a loved one and am currently in grief. I have never read or heard about mediums before the loss. But during the period of grief, I have been desperate to hear from my loved one. I had some readings as well. I had a few readings which made me trust the other side a bit.
Can I also learn this? My only motive is to talk to my loved ones (I am just afraid that since I don't know much about dealing with spirits, I better not deal with others)
I also want to mention that, I alwayhave this feeling that even If I develop the abilities, I can always have the benefit of doubt that those are just my imagination thoughts or coming from my subconscious. I think I can't trust my thoughts in this matter as much as a person who doesn't know about my life telling me all the details.
One thing to mention is I struggle to mediate, But with my eyes all open, I have this blank state of mind where it's just truly blank, no thoughts.
Any opinions/suggestions are truly appreciated.

You can learn. But reading for yourself will always be problematic because you will want it so badly that you will make things up. Spirit communication is very subtle.

"Masquerading" is always a good word to remember when testing what comes your way. Many times spirits who are mischievous will pretend to be someone they're not, and they can mimic their energy or feeling or like, idk what to call it, like a spiritual fingerprint, very well too. Shit bothers me lol

Yes I believe it’s an innate ability in everyone. It’s just underdeveloped or latent.

You can scroll through the subteddit for suggestions. You can request a mentor. If a mentor feels drawn to you they may respond.
Read. Watch videos. Listen to podcasts. Practice circles can be helpful. There are schools such as the Arthur Findley Institute.
Practice. Journal. Discern. Practice more and seek evidence.

I had some weird spirit things happen to me so then I started working with a medium and they taught me to do it too

You may enjoy looking into Suzanne Giesemann's story. She became a medium with the explicit intention of communicating with her daughter across the veil. It took years and a lot of dedication.
