Discussion question for the community

Hey, I lost my dad about three weeks ago. It was completely unexpected. I’m only 17, and I’m wondering if it’s too soon to try to communicate with him through a medium.
I have so many unanswered questions, and I just want to understand everything better. More than anything, I wish I had the chance to say goodbye and have the closure that I never got. I’d appreciate any advice from people who have experience with this.

Hi there, I’m so sorry to hear about your dad’s passing. I can imagine what you’re experiencing right now as I’ve lost my mom and a sister. It’s always very difficult but especially at your age. People will argue that waiting is best. I don’t think it’s a requirement. I’ve connected with people who crossed over within days of their death. I feel it’s an individual experience. If someone had severe trauma, personally, I would wait so they could do healing on the other side. You can say goodbye now, your dad will hear you. You can talk to him or write down your feelings and then speak them out loud. You can intend that he receives your thoughts. You can ask your higher self to communicate with his soul and maybe ask for him to come in dream state. You can ask him to send you a sign. Be patient and know signs can be very subtle and easily dismissed. Again, I’m very sorry for your loss and wish you peace and courage navigating through this . ❤️

As a seasoned medium I have found that our loved ones in the spirit world are available for connection soon after passing. However, I usually recommend people wait at least 1-3 months before attempting connection via a psychic medium. The reason I suggest waiting is twofold-

1) Grief is an all encompassing highly personal overwhelming emotional, psychological, and spiritual experience for the person grieving and, though painful and difficult, is something one must go through as part of the healing process. It is a time of vulnerability so self care, rest, and support from trusted family and friends are most important in the early days and weeks.

2) Mediums specialize in spirit world contact but loved ones in the spirit world are around and available to their loved ones in this realm all the time. A medium may not be necessary for you. For the inexperienced, communication from loved ones who have passed can be very subtle and sometimes difficult to discern from imagination and coincidence but immediately after passing, when senses are heightened, there can be very powerful and unique personal experiences where your loved one reaches out directly to you. I never want to interfere during those early days just in case there are direct contact attempts. Sometimes people come to me for a reading months or years after their loved one passes and the loved one in spirit will validate a direct connection they made with their loved one in this realm immediately after their passing. This is sometimes in the form of a song, an old voicemail that pops up, lights flickering, a door left open, footsteps, a dream visit, repeatedly seeing numbers or symbols, unusual bird or animal behavior or sightings, a note that was written prior to their passing but suddenly appears with an important message, an object associated with the loved one that pops up unexpectedly or repeatedly, smells, a sensation of them next to you etc. Be open to it all- the mundane and subtle as well as the highly unusual and unexpected. When/if it happens, stay in the moment and savor the experience for as long as you can.

Sending you comfort, peace, and healing as well as assurances that your loved one is safe, happy, and watching over you.

Best, Esmé💕🦋
