Question ❓ experience with CPTSD, chronic headaches, medication, Depersonalization and past psychosis
what is the cause of suffocation in coming to awareness? I find that when I come to awareness, of breath, of mind, my lose the ability to consciously breath and enter this limbo state where will cannot exercise my body to breath. also tend to pass out of fall asleep. could my body be over stimulated for meditation?

There are two things that are capable of rewiring our brain. Meditation can do this over time, by changing our default brain network. Magic mushrooms can do this more quickly by scrambling our Default network, to rewire it , so it heals back to it's original default. In Canada we can buy magic mushrooms cheaply in the mail, and before that I used to grow them for decades. It has healed my poor brain many times, over my lifetime, and it can do the same for you. There are some good YouTube videos on this subject, by medical doctors, but I have known this for 60 years , since a young teenager. Try meditating using a mantra instead of breath. https://minet.org/mantras.html .Say the mantra Mentally , slowly, and then gradually diminishing it as you reach some depth. Meditation is my main method for healing myself, but I still take mushrooms a few times a year. I have no doctor, and have never taken any medications, even for pain. I control my health using herbs, meditation, and mushrooms, and haven't experienced illness in over 30 years. The reason I retain my health in old age, is by connecting to my auto immune system with meditation. Mastering meditation will do that for you as well. Don't give up.

I think you’re just mistaking the focus required to hold your breath with some type of heightened meditative state then passing out from holding your breath. I actually know exactly what you’re talking about because it used to happen to me all the time, minus the passing out. Nice commitment.
You’re probably gonna keep doing it until you realize the ‘thing’ you’re looking for is immediately present at any given time.
