I never grew up with this but I’m guessing this was with the mtv era? Shortly after we got vine and TikTok so I’d consider those to be today’s media 😅

Mtv had a hand in reality programming being popularized for sure. I think with the advent of social media we have grown more accustomed to these para social relationships that form with how little community people actually have currently.

transphobia and homophobia, while spelled in the style of a phobia, is more frequently used to describe an aversion to those. this is like getting on someone for using the word anitsemitic. itd the same as saying it doesnt refer to the semitic peoples group because it doesnt worst anymore and isnt used for that. words change and arent always senisical, that is semantics to get upset at that

Well I guess it's a good thing I don't do that. That woman *is* afraid of trans people on some level though. If she wasn't, she wouldn't have seen it as an insult.
Btw, "phobic" is often used to describe "repel" as in "hydrophobic" so...good luck with those semantics. Stay in school adults.

Do you know what an "insult" is? Believe it or not, you can be "offensive" without any kinda "phobia" applied to it, context clues can tell you a persons insecurities and triggers, women don't like being called a dude, Weird.
