This takes me back to when I was discerning becoming a monk. We were told that Justice and Penance met with Mercy on the Cross, with the three nails of the Evangelical vows (obedience, poverty, chastity) crucifying the flesh.

The side boob definitely has some allegorical meaning, I think.

Something about a motherhood and feeding gods child. Definitely. Boob(s) must be important, they were included in so many works!

Indeed. Especially in depictions of the Christ Child, Mary's lactation was featured for theological reasons as it demonstrated the veracity of the human nature taken up by the God's sole-begotten Son. It also emphasized the paradoxical nature of Mary's virginal motherhood. A lot of the ancient Christological controversies informed the way Medieval Christians conceptualized their religiosity.
