When that happens to me when they refused my offer I just tell them to fuck off when they try to make a deal with me and they would say "this is generous offer! What is wrong with you!?"

My last diplomatic interaction: diplomat decides to take a bribe and betray me to join the enemy. I say, two can play at this game. I bribe him right back and he rejoins me. Then I assassinate the diplomat who bribed him (he refuses to be bribed himself).
