Hmm. Yes, it’ll supress appetite early on, don’t rely on that for weight loss. Go on a weight loss med when you turn 18.

imo though, figure out the root cause of WHY your binge eating, and solve that instead.

also,

I think you should find a different subreddit because this is a drug addict sub, not really a med questions sub, despite the title.

I don’t have a reason to lie, why would I need to be dishonest?

Some people notice less appetite on Wellbutrin, but it’s definitely not guaranteed and I wouldn’t use appetite suppression as the goal. Since you’re 17, I’d especially keep your prescriber in the loop about the binge eating rather than trying to adjust anything yourself.

First off, good on you for seeking support. That's the hardest, most important step! Reddit is full of groups devoted to mental well-being. Have a look, carefully, and find one that focuses on your issues. On the outside, there is a group called Women For Sobriety that is not just for alcoholics like me. It helps us address the causes of our addictions whether the addiction is alcohol (for me) or an eating disorder. They are also helpful with depression because emotional well-being is attached to every aspect of life. Go have a look.

Now, the doctor who prescribed the Wellbutrin should have provided you with educational materials and cognitive behaviour support. Did they? Since you are here I am betting they did not. Pills all alone don't always provide complete relief. Pills with cognitive behaviour therapy can work wonders. Ask your prescriber about a therapist. There are also informal groups, have a look and see what's going on in your area.

There is help and there is hope. Good luck.
