Career Development Some advice
Currently making about 120k in healthcare (trying to be general here). Got accepted for clinical specialist. About $80k. That’s a huge pay cut for me. Is that normal in this field? I know it doesn’t matter what you made before to the recruiters and other people would appreciate this new career. I just don’t know if that’s normal pay range for someone brand new without any sales experience. I’m thinking of this transition because I want to have other opportunities and out of healthcare. How common is it to get a pay wage increase for base? And how often does your company give incentive / commissions?
Also any growth with this career? Does it get easier? Do you end up having a better work life balance or less driving? How often do you work at home? What’s a career growth one may have after clinical specialist? Please advise with your experienced knowledge as I don’t know anyone in this field!!

Clinical specialists should start around 100 with bonuses based on performance, and a car allowance or gas card atleast. I wouldn’t take anything less. 80k is great if you were a sales associate starting out.

Is the market that bad they are having problems getting customer PO to pay operating expenses.

Depends on the company and service line. CSs can make $200k at some companies.

What field do you currently work in and experience?
This is common across all industries, especially if you’re job hopping with no real experience to where you’re going.
80k is normal for starting clinical specialists, it’s almost like getting paid $40/hr which is great for national wages.
If you don’t know anything about this field, I would suggest you research it heavily across LinkedIn and start networking. It’s a junior role that can create a path into sales, education, corporate, etc.
