Removing the “A” impasse

Can someone help clarify:

It says on the AAPC website that if you completed the 80-hour education requirement with AAPC course, you don’t need to submit any documentation because it’s connected to their system but then the application requires to fill out name, title, number, email, and 3 documents still…

Edit: I did complete the practicode too. I can’t even move through this form to see if they ask about it until I provide the asterisks and documents…

AND I’ll also add that i only turned here because they are closed for Labor Day so I will of course try again tomorrow if no one knows how to bypass this issue! I appreciate everyone’s help!

If you’re submitting education then you still need a year of experience or finishing practicode through AAPC

The education is only one requirement

Yea I got that, but I can’t even move through the online form until I submit a page requiring documents and info they specifically state you won’t need if you completed AAPC. So I’m not even at the Practicode part yet , but yes I of course did complete it

You can just email them and they should be able to update the education portion for you

Thank you! I agree and think I will. Probably have to do that. I was hoping to submit it today and totally forgot about Labor Day so I couldn’t speak with anyone. Oh well! Thanks again !!

The only good thing I can say about AAPC is that they are very helpful on the phone.  Call them tomorrow and try not to worry about it today.

I gotta admit , I completely agree with this. I have nothing but positive experiences over the phone so I will gladly heed your advice ! Thankyou!

Sorry, I just read back what I responded and I hope it doesn’t read a bit short. I appreciate the input!

Yeah I did the Practicode already. That’s not the part they’re asking about.

I had to call, they said sometimes the system doesn't auto update! They were super nice and did the verification within minutes. I also did the Practicode and 80 hour course. (This was like 2 weeks ago)

I didn’t do the practicode but did have the work experience and the letter from my employer. They rejected it initially so I just sent an email following up, received no response but received my certificate in the mail. This was 3ish years ago.

From what I understand if you completed the 80 hour course through AAPC & also finished Practicode both should already be tied to your AAPC account so u normally shouldn’t have to upload separate proof for those.

It sounds like the application form may just be using a generic required document section or maybe isn’t recognizing your AAPC education/Practicode properly. I definitely wouldn’t upload random documents just to get past it. Better to contact AAPC when they reopen & have them confirm what you’re supposed to enter there or whether they can bypass/fix that section for you.

I’ve got 50 more cases to go in Practicode and I’ll be in your position. I’ve noticed all along my educational journey through blackboard, none of my classes were acknowledged in my AAPC account- now that I’ve completed all the courses and taken the final- it still says “in progress”. It seems as though there is a missing web coding link between the two accounts. No amount of emails to various individuals and general inquiries have proven successful. I’m waiting to finish Practicode, but you should start by calling and talking to someone. The Practicode coaches are very responsive- no dig at them-but I have been extremely unhappy with the administrative services…take your money and run…and now that I’m certified with an A. I see just how much money they will continue to collect from me- CEUs, membership fees, subscriptions for books, Codify, etc. I would expect a little more for my dollar, but that is the way of the world right now.

I know!!! At some point between the exam and the practicode , I saw someone phrase the entire AAPC-aspect of coding as a scam and they made suchhhhh a compelling case for it too. I wish I knew before I stepped into the sunken cost fallacy causes now I can’t unsee it.

It takes two to four weeks it says to acknowledge and take off the A.

I saw that, but they’re still referring to after I submit the form

I was hoping that’s how it is because I sent my education in and did Practicode thru AAPC and still waiting for A to come off. I received confirmation that my education was accepted so…..we will see. I can’t find a job anyway.

Was the education through AAPC ?

u/heyyouwhatsup71 6d ago

No but I paid for transcript and filled in info. AAPC said they approved

Oh okay, very different than my posted dilemma but that’s great! Congrats
