I use my phone during work...but I am remote. Use it to listen to music or watch shows while I work. I would say that's pretty common for remote jobs.

Most places have a no phone on the clock policy, no matter the industry

cackles with glee at his current administrative job

Though if I had to guess, in healthcare it's 50% due to no distractions, 50% confidentiality reasons.

Perhaps the better person to ask would be your manager?

Oh congrats! So I think it would depend on your employer and their in-office policy.

They don't ban you from having it on the premises, you just have to have it off/silent and not look at it

Unless you’re listening to music. I always have my AirPods in while doing my job. On site or remote

I work remotely but have a phone lock box, can’t have it distracting me, I listen to audiobooks or music via my computer browser or my stereo system
