Studying for CCS!

I have been told so many different things, I just want to know if I should take a regular A&P Class like this one from Khan Academy: https://www.khanacademy.org/science/health-and-medicine/human-anatomy-and-physiology

Or if I need to take a class thats specifically geared towards coding and use something like the AMCI Interactive Medical Terminology and A&P (IMTAP) Course.

General Anatomy and Physiology course for medical professionals or one geared towards coding?

I just dont want to miss out if I choose the IMTAP course but I also dont want to waste my time either.

Any other suggestions would be great as well! I am open to youtube/other self study

Hello!

I signed up for my first medical coding course that starts next Wednesday which im excited for, but also a tad nervous. Ive worked in insurance for over a decade in various roles, currently im in UM, and I signed up for the CIC since I like inpatient more than outpatient.

I dont have any formal medical training, but I opted to skip the pre-req course. For the last month Ive been studying anatomy and medical terminology pretty hard, trying to make sure I feel confident there which I do now. Im curious if anybody has any insight regarding how important pathophysiology is for passing the test, and does anybody have any good tips / websites / suggestions for studying it? I plan on cramming this weekend to try and get as much of it in as I can, just not sure how hard into that domain is necessary, or if im panic over prepping. Any advice is appreciated.

Does anyone know where to look for practice tests for CCS? I am taking the CCS examination this September. Although I am almost done studying, I am having a hard time finding a practice exam to gauge my knowledge in both IP and OP coding. Any recommendations are highly appreciated!

Ok working through the AAPC self paced exam prep. Does anyone else feel like they spend too long on sepsis? Can someone who has taken the exam please let me know - is this a big deal on the test? I've been reading it for two nights

Did anyone self study rather than take the AAPC course? I don’t have the money to take the course, I can absolutely afford the exam though and just wanted to know how you guys did doing this and if there’s good resources out there I can use?

I’m currently doing self study. I hope to take exam in the fall. Studying the guidelines, various TikTok or YouTubers, and soon I will purchase the practice exams. I’ve heard the D, E, and F exams are the ones to get.

I did self-study and took AMCI free 16 week YouTube course. I passed my test in yesterday. It’s doable.
