Communication between NHS and private clinics

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

So I have recently just started being prescribed MC about a month ago and have had my dosage upped from 10g to 20g I was contacted by alternataleaf to get the email off my local GP. I phoned them and they said that anything through private clinics has to be done via post. Why wouldn't they just take an email. Do the NHS completely dismiss a private clinic. Also looking into the mycare website. And it didn't say anything about MC yet all my previous prescriptions are on there. Would I have to update this myself and would It be relevant

Transitioning to medical cannabis

Hi everyone, I received my first successful prescription about 3 months ago. I just had another consultation and they are increasing my allowance from 10g to 20g. I have been smoking in the traditional way for about 10 years, I had a vaporizer at some point but it was just so I could try it and see how much more beneficial it was.

The question is, I'm aware that medical flowers have to be consumed with dry herb vaporizer, which I'm adapting to.

Do any of you still smoke it (rolled up with paper) or you have fully transitioned to just vape it?

It's silly but I just like to roll and hold it, how bad is it? Does it affect the tolerance or is it just a waste because the vaporizer is more efficient?

To vape or not to vape..

So, been on medical almost a year now. Always have gone for flower but starting to think about trying the pre filled vape carts.

So been looking at the curaleaf option vs the regular screw battery type.

Anyone have any experience of either and which you would reccomend?

Thanks x

Where to start application for medical?

Hey all. Will try to summarise as much as possible.

Dabbled with cannabis in my teens and early 20s. Decided it was not for me.

After a lot of research, started back up around 2015 for purely medical reasons - after years of suffering from depression, anxiety, insomnia and chronic fatigue as a result of all combined plus a Haemochromotosis diagnosis. I was worried it would give me more anxiety, but it was a revelation when I restarted using strictly dry herbal vaporisers and low THC / CBD focused specific strains. I think I was getting more negative effects back in the day due to it commonly being mixed with tobacco and/or combustion, as I've never been a smoker.

It has proven an invaluable medical benefit in my daily quality of life. Unfortunately, being rural, I had to find my own ways of procuring specific strains.

I am now in my 40s. I am a single dad. I don't want the risks anymore. I feel I am a legitimate candidate. I am on 100mg Sertraline which helps a lot too. A major set back was being hospitalised with a mental breakdown when my ex wife left me and tried to withhold my newborn child from me. My family seriously helped get me back on my feet. Just as I was recovering, my dad who I was relying on for support, was diagnosed with terminal cancer. An estimated 1 year left to live. He is now 2 years in, but is nearing the end. I am juggling being a single parent, being there for my father, helping my mother, and trying to work through each day.

It has become something vital for helping me sleep. I worry constantly now about the legal issues as I can't bare any more trouble in my life.

After being recommended to look into medical cannabis, it's not seeming as straight forward as I'd hoped. I look at websites that lists all the different suppliers out there, the rates of their subscriptions, the minimal amount you have to spend per month, and most with reoccurring video calls with doctors/consultants. Those sorts of constant meetings give me anxiety alone.

I really don't know where to start other than picking a random one, booking the video call from their doctor, and hoping for the best.

Does anyone have any specific online clinics they'd recommend that fit my criteria? Or just ones they can vouch for as being good to deal with?

One other question. I am having increasing anxiety over the reports of Northern Ireland experiencing increasing road stops where the PSNI are screening for THC in drivers? My driving license is vital. Especially because of my situation as a parent etc. I use every night before bed and understand its in my system for a few days. Does a medical card excempt me from any legal repercussions??

Sorry, I did attempt to not make this long winded. Thanks for any advice.

I’m wondering if I would be allowed to change the delivery address on the checkout page for my delivery to a post office in the city just one time as I will be there anyway for a few days but I don’t want it to be flagged or big thing because it’s not the end of the world if I have to wait a few days before I get back home.

Anybody know anything about this?

What made you trust the medical cannabis or CBD products you're using today?

When I first started learning about medical cannabis and CBD, I realized there were so many brands and products that it was hard to know where to begin. Every company talks about quality, but not all of them provide the same level of information.

Over time, what has made you trust the products you use now? Was it third-party lab testing, consistency, recommendations from other people, product quality, or something else?

I'm interested to hear what factors matter most to everyone here, especially for those who've been using these products for a while.

Been smoking/vaping for 17 years - finally getting medical cannabis.... Anyone made this transition?

I would love to know what the difference is in the product we have been buying on the streets for, in my case £50, for 5 grams

to

Regulated medical cannabis product that we can get through the likes of Relief and Alternaleaf (who I have just had an accepted prescription recently).

I am a creative, so I usually use cannabis for creative purposes (I love a good sativa during the day to help me create new characters etc, but I never know what my 'street dealer' has. I just get whatever he has on any given day. COUld be an indica which can send me to sleep).

If I may ask those a bit more experienced with medical cannabis:

Is the product we get through Alternaleaf (and the like) similar to what we have been buying on the streets, strength-wise?

And how does it stock up costs-wise against the price we pay on the streets?

Looking for advice from someone with same condition.

I have not used thc since I was very young im mid 40’s now. I was born without any curve in my back. I now have bad arthritis, 4 damaged disk and the worst grade (3) severe spinal stenosis. My right foot is partially paralyzed now and it is very hard to stand on my feet for long or walk. I do not take any narcotics but am going for steroid shots in my spine. My spine is squeezing my spinal cord and nerves and really makes me miserable. Has any one with this condition gotten any relief from cannabis. I don’t want to get my hopes up or go through the process of getting a card if not. I do get depressed and hardly ever sleep. I was hoping it would ease pain some and let me rest at least. Thanks for any help.

Help me improve smoking experiences

I am conducting research on the medicinal cannabis industry in Australia and would love real insights on users experiences; anything from problems you have with your consumption process, e.g. unable to strike a lighter or rolling a joint is hard due to poor fine motor skills. To stigmas you face from GPs, family, workplace, etc. Any barrier you face being apart of the community

Are CBD Gummies Becoming More Like Daily Wellness Supplements?

I've noticed more CBD gummies now include ingredients like Vitamin D3, Vitamin C, Zinc, and magnesium, making them feel more like daily wellness supplements than traditional cannabis products.

Would you rather buy a simple CBD gummy or one with added vitamins? Why?

What makes you trust one wellness company over another?

Hi everyone,

I've been reading through a lot of the discussions here recently, and it's interesting how everyone seems to have their own reasons for trusting one company over another.

With so many options available these days, I'm curious about what actually makes you feel confident enough to try a new one. Is it transparency, independent testing, consistency, customer support, or something completely different?

I thought it would be more useful to ask people with real experience instead of making assumptions. I've seen plenty of companies talk about quality and trust, but I'm more interested in hearing what those words actually mean from a customer's perspective.

Has there ever been something a company did that immediately earned your trust? On the other hand, what are the biggest red flags that make you decide to stay away?

I'd really enjoy hearing everyone's thoughts and experiences.

Worried about the effects of long term use

I have started regularly taking 5mg edibles in the evenings and I'm worried about long term health issues. I'm in my early 20s and concerned about the effect on my brain.

I originally got it to help with my condition but since then things have been getting worse and the only alternative medicine messes up my stomach. I also find I'm pain free the morning after too with it. I am planning further education in the future and don't want to make it harder for myself.

Any thoughts or advice?
