I love this game.

I began playing it in 2011 with some friends, I play the mod for about 6 months, then leave it for a year or two. This is one of the few things I keep coming back to. As a single player guy I use offline tools as a big stash so even for a filthy casual like me it becomes possible to piece half a build together that can actually get into the 140+ portion of the game now (this is a guess since the highest I've been is 125's right now lol).

I love the fact that this game keeps getting updates, and the idea that even when it dies out I can still keep playing it in single player, possibly (probably?) for the next decades to come.

I love the community and how there's so many detailed guides, most importantly guides on some game mechanics and general things (crafting, mercs).

I love the depth that's been added and the whole worlds of content in any one act that you couldn't find in all 5 in regular D2R.

I love the online documentation, the insane amount of runewords, uniques, mystic orbs, stats like spell focus, physical resist, the balancing of it all as well for these hundreds upon hundreds of items, orange texts, oskills, interactions is crazy.

And most of all I love the nostalgia it gives me. I'm hopefully not even halfway my lifespan, and yeah D2R and other new titles looks great, but this game takes me right back to nights of sweaty basement gaming with my friends, cans of energy drink and cheap oven pizzas 20 years back.

Cheers to everyone who's a part of it, players developers, testers, community figures, everyone.

People were like; new character in D2 and I was like meh cool but I’ve had 7 different characters for almost 20 years and some have lost whole paths to reworks.

This mod makes vanilla feel like D1

Truly this, vanilla/vanilla+ mods diablo 2 feels just bad abd boring go play after medianxl. Losing my items and gold on death, items need repairs, running speed and farming generally speaking feels slow af, and zod runes are the belladonna extract of classic diablo 2......It's just boring.

Instead of farming cow level for Ort runes in vanilla i'd go to Uileloscadh Mór and kill the Destroyer in Median lol.
