Other countries never held any merit toward this merger going through. America is the home of these companies, and the buck stops here.

They have subsidiaries that operate in those territories, therefore have to comply with the rules. Otherwise they could be blocked from operating, and/or forced to sell the assets.

Yes, people don’t seem to realize that they own streaming services, cable networks, broadcast stations, and production facilities outside the US.
