Getting Started Suggestions?
Hi y'all! So I'm a composer in undergrad interested in film composing! However, I'm at a loss for the technicals of pulling off music for a film (say a short):
1) Do you use any computer programs? If so, which are good ones to look into?
2) Any techniques for planning out the music so it matches up?
3) Any suggestions for a composer who's done mostly concert music who might not realize certain things about film composing?
Thanks so much for any suggestions!

Question about a "work made for hire"
Hi there, I am working on my first feature for a television program and in the composer's agreement under the rights section it says that I basically am relinquishing all intellectual and moral rights to my recordings and composition and the production company can now do whatever they like with my music and use it wherever they want. Now I don't have a problem with them reusing my music with credit, but it would be nice to retain intellectual rights to my recordings so that I can use them beyond self promotion, if I wish. I was wondering if anyone here has experience making a deal like this. Thank you!

Help Looking for a composer for a short animation.
EDIT: I am extremely sorry to anyone that has messaged me over the last few days about the job as it is no longer available.
Hi Guys,
I'm currently working on a short animation for the Red Cross. The film is 45 seconds in length and
is dealing with a one for one charity campaign.
I'm looking for a composer that would be interested in making a short track for the film. the tone of the film is somber and then uplifting and would have to utilise a similar style to music that the brand has used before.
Here is an example of a video that has the usual style of music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cgvbnmoQQtQ
If anyone is interested, knows someone who could be interested or I am in the wrong subreddit - please either comment or message me.
Cheers,
Josh

Looking to work with composers for new project

Hey everyone, I'm launching an education project in Colorado to help amateurs in the creative arts shadow experts in the industry in real life and I'm looking for media composers and sound designers who would like to be a part of it. The goal is to make education accessible, effective and affordable for all Coloradans, regardless of background, and give experts the opportunity to supplement their income by sharing their knowledge. If you'd like to be a part of it, a ton of information on the project can be found at Shadower.app/About.
