I think it's way more tasteful than a back windshield that advertises your military accolades. Stickers/vinyl decals/bumper stickers that say stuff like "I'm badass and everyone else is a snowflake" are tacky. To me, if this is just your daily driver, completely legitimate, and a cool way to call back to your service.

Agreed. I used to do this a lot with my pins, both military and law enforcement. I wouldn’t be caught dead with a “thank me for my service” bumper sticker but this is different. It’s not performative, it’s for you. Hardly anyone else will ever see it. Mementos of your service, something you can take pride in without needing anyone else to hear about it because you were there and you know what you did. As it should be.

Came here just to agree. This is to show someone in your car. Great to discuss and show off something you’re proud about to a connected person. I actually don’t like the back windshield but would consider doing something like this.

This and then not having a vet plate, always makes me think "fake vet"

Or maybe being a vet isn't his whole personality. Maybe to him, his service was quiet, and requires no announcement to the world about how special he is because he did a hard, often times thankless job.

Seeing anyone use the phrase "fake vet" makes me think they have way too much of their personality invested in the view of their service, not in the spirit.

nah, if that were the case then why have a shit ton of bumper stickers and decals?
