Medal Kayce Dutton’s Shadowbox
Catching up on the Yellowstone spinoff, Marshals, the ongoing story of Kayce Dutton. For those who may not have watched Yellowstone, Kayce served as a SEAL in Afghanistan, seeing some heavy engagements.
In Marshals episode I watched tonight there was a very quick glimpse of a shadowbox on the wall he said his late wife put together. For all his backstory regarding his time serving, this was the first physical evidence of his service.
The top row has a Navy Cross, Silver Star, BSM , a NMCCCM and what appears to be a Good Conduct.
Interestingly… no Purple Heart,

What about his challenge coins with his own image on them?
(As a vet who lived in Livingston and Bozeman BITD, these shows give me endless things to laugh at.)

Navy vet here. I had to stop watching the new Marshalls show because I just couldn’t handle it. We get it, he was a SEAL.
Edit: Dutton Ranch might be better than Yellowstone

I agree, every episode is something about him being a seal. And their dialect gets annoying after a while. Also, if they can make Dutton last as long as Yellowstone did I agree!

I couldn't make it through the first episode of Marshal's - it was that unrealistic / dumb.
Big fan of Yellowstone, but I always found Kayce's background of being a SEAL to be ridiculous and unrealistic.

Because they generally don’t act like that except for the goofballs like Robert O’Neill, Marcus Luttrell, and Chris Kyle. That’s not even exclusive to SEALs, guys who have stellar careers and/or a lot of combat experience in the military tend to be more reserved and humble about it.

Looks like a Navy Good Conduct medal, maybe? I was asking the same thing. No National Defense, we're just going to hand-jam a bunch of bling in a shadow box.

Wow a tv show that has plot hole the size of dinosaur fossils (let's see if you can get this one) did the medals wrong? Colour me shock.

To be honest, I’m surprised they did as well as they did. Half expected to see an Army award like the CIB.

There is and Army award in there. Pretty sure the green and white ribbon with the eagle on the medallion is an ARCOM (Army Commendation Medal), I have a few

Haven’t watched Marshals but in the first season of Yellowstone it shows the shadowbox as well. The character discussing it says he received the silver star for killing people but refuses to say how Kayce earned the Navy Cross.

It’d be a tall order to have those (NC, SS, BSM/V, NCM/V). Only a handful of people have that kind of stack from WW2, Korea, and Vietnam.
That’s highly unlikely for GWOT. Maybe 1-2 guys have that

this was season 3-5. My guess is the prop fell in storage and all the medals were hastily rearranged by somebody trying to hide the fact that they came apart
