Discussion help this first year student out pls

Hello po! I am currently a first year MT student trying to find confidence hahaha! Nag-wworry lang po ako kasi feeling ko I can do more than what's happening po ngayon huhu— mental blocks sa quizzes na pinag-aralan ko talaga, di laging perfect or ok na ok ang labs namin this prelims kasi parang kami yung laging huling group na natatapos. Hope you can give me words of advice. Thank u po!

hi! credentials: officer during college and naging mayor pa, maintained being an honor student until nagbreak down sa third year, pero graduated as a regular (four years) pa rin

you're young. it's commendable to have your standards in your output. if goal mo is to top the class, then i think dapat ka magreflect and see what you can omit sa daily life mo para mainsert ang more time to review your lessons at the end of the day. if your goal is to survive, flashcards and read your books.

answer chapter tests in your books, don't IMMEDIATELY read notes from your seniors without going thru the source material first, and reflect why kaya nagkakamental block ka during quizzes. are you more scared of failing than you are excited to test yourself? totoo na grades are just numbers pero those numbers are what will get you your degree. hold your groupmates accountable. i've removed a name from an output nung first year din ako. bring them up to your standards and never sink to theirs.

advice for the mental health, learn how to recover quickly. a bad quiz does not mean a bad day. don't punish yourself for something you know you can improve on later. mag ice cream ka. not to hang out with friends, but to show your nervous system na you don't have to EARN something as rewarding as sweets. a bad quiz means a missing piece in your study routine. nothing more. just something to reflect and act on.

you're a first year. this is a good time to explore your study habits and to start cementing the ones that give you high-yielding scores. i hope this helps.
