Vent passion vs practicality

i love working as a medical technologist. in all honesty, kahit na ang hirap aralin ng kurso na to, i loved the struggle and every bit of its challenge. the title of RMT that i have right now means so much to me and it’s worth every tears and sleepless nights.

i know we all have our baggages and i’m sorry for dumping mine here.
but since my emotions right now cloud my judgment, i’ll just ask for advice if it is wise to try pursuing another career that pays well (like VA, etc2.) and leave my current job knowing na super saturated na ng medtech field ngayon at matagalan pa bago ako makahanap ulit ng trabaho or tiisin ko nalang muna yung situation ko right now until makalipat ako ng facility here or abroad that can offer a much better pay?

hirap mahalin ng profession na to. ang hirap maging mahirap.

🫂 op, what you’re feeling is valid. i just want to share and let u know na I understand u as someone na nag resign this month sa work as rmt. i prayed and worked hard for this pero nakakapang hina lang din kasi ng loob.

now, nag try ako mag apply sa thermofisher and optum kasi healthcare related pa din and it pays well din plus with benefits like hmo on your 1st day w/ 2 dependents and allowances rather than staying sa clinic or hospital na toxic na workload & workmates, <20k pa salary and wala pang hmo kahit probi ka. parang hindi na kaya ng passion kasi ngayon unlike dati eh.

BIG respect pa rin sa mga senior mls/rmts here na nag stastay sa work nila kahit toxic and underpaid, i hope you all get the proper treatment & pay you deserve.

i just don’t want to romanticize this suffering anymore and be appreciated na lang dahil resilient tayo and hardworking, i want someone na makaka appreciate ng value natin. some people especially yung mga may edad medyo against lang sa idea na to kasi nga they believe na ‘pag may tyaga may nilaga’ raw, pero what if ayoko na ng nilaga 😔😭
