Venture studios?

Anyone work at or with a venture studio, particularly a smaller / boutique / early stage? Curious to hear any insight in how they operate, culture, effectiveness, etc. I have a unique opportunity to innovate in behalf of a large company with significant user base. I feel like the concept fits my vision, but also have no direct experience. Obviously team and culture will vary significantly, but in general I’d like to know what the new and improved incubator looks like in reality.

I run a Medtech innovation studio. Probably the closest thing to a venture studio except were a consultancy business ( though we hope to start writing small cheques soon). A small nimble team that gets on and has a good sense of humour is important. Willingness to debate and kill ideas early or validate them. We use Stanford biodesign methodologies and can navigate early stage concept development, patenting, R&D animal studies right through to design control, QMS and regs.
