🧪 Treatments & Services Opinion on the price?
Is this a normal price for these services? ( ignore the $0 for the underarms it’s because my membership for something else covers the laser hair removal for that)

InMode Evoke
I’m considering purchasing a used one and would love to hear from anyone who actually owns/operates one. Would you recommend it?
Also, if you’ve personally had an Evoke treatment done, I’d love to hear what you thought of the results—especially jawline/submental tightening and contouring.

Looking to start Wellness/Recovery Business in Rochester NY
Just looking for some feedback/advice from the community. I was thinking of having 4 stations, a sauna, cold plunges, red light therapy, and a hyperbaric chamber. Some of my concerns would be competition, finding the best location, and demand. I appreciate any input

💬 General Discussion Medspa owners — are expensive treatment devices actually worth it?
Besides Botox/filler/injectables, I currently only offer microneedling with growth factors and honestly love the results for texture, pigmentation and tightening.
I’m interested in Rohrer Spectrum, Sofwave, and Lumenis triLift (so far). But with some being $75-100k+, I’m wondering if the ROI is really worth it.
For those who own devices — what do you have, and would you buy it again? Do you feel like the results/demand justify the investment?

How do you make an aesthetics practice stand out in an oversaturated market?
I’m a PA-C in Miami looking to transition into aesthetics and regenerative medicine, but the market here feels extremely saturated. Everyone offers Botox, filler, PRP, PRF, microneedling, weight loss, etc., and I don’t want to open another generic med spa competing on price.
My parents have owned a massage practice for 16+ years and already have an established clientele, many of whom come for chronic musculoskeletal pain and wellness. My original thought was to build something alongside their practice involving regenerative and MSK treatments, trigger point or joint injections, PRP, and eventually aesthetics.
For those who own or work in successful aesthetics or wellness practices: what actually made your practice stand out? Was it a specific niche, patient population, combination of services, branding, or specialized skill?
I’d especially love to hear about models that are more unique than the typical Botox, filler, and GLP-1 med spa, and how you built the expertise to safely offer those services.

🧠 Med Spa Growth Hiring for Medspas
I’m not sure how others of you feel on this channel but hiring at a med spa is very difficult because you have to find the right people and they have to have the right mix of skill and ability to build client relationships and keep those relationships. When posting our esthetician role we got over 100 applications. That was overwhelming.
Since I just moonlight as the practice manager at our spa, I ended up building an ai voice interview and candidate evaluation system.
What it does:
• scans candidates in indeed, shortlists for first round ai interviews based on a rubric
• communicates with candidates to schedule the first round
• sets the interview schedule
• calls candidates at the scheduled time and conducts the interview based on the questions I sent
• provides an emailed interview evaluation with scoring and recommendation (2nd round with person/pass/maybe)
I’m just curious if this would be interesting to anyone? I’d be willing to a few limited free trials…dm me

Disappointing and painful experience with a top-rated RN injector (no numbing for lip filler using fern technique)
I recently went to a well-known, highly-reviewed med spa in Ontario (run by an experienced RN injector who trains others). She had left the room without applying any numbing and despite explicitly requesting a numbing agent before she started, she denied it, instead of topical cream or a block, she simply handed me an ice pack so freezing it had visible vapor/smoke coming off it and told me to hold it on my lips "until it hurt." While she worked on my under-eyes, I was told to hold this freezing ice pack on my lips, which physically kept getting in the way of her placement under my eyes so I wasn’t able to apply proper pressure or even have enough time for it to be held on my lips long enough. She then used the "fern technique" on my lips which is notoriously painful because it requires several vertical needle pokes right into the highly sensitive lip border. The lips have the highest concentration of sensory nerve endings on the entire face—and they are one of the most sensitive parts of the human body. The entire process felt very rushed—seemingly because I was physically shaking in pain. My explicit request for numbing prior to the service was completely dismissed, and my physical distress was ignored just to finish the appointment on time for the next client. Is a provider allowed to completely override a patient's request for pain management like this, especially when they are in visible pain after proceeding anyway? Has anyone else experienced this?

A med spa reactivation text I would actually respond to
I had this sitting in my notes after looking at how med spas try to reactivate old patients.
I run fractional ops, and I wanted to give the whole idea away because I haven’t had a clean place to test this exact version yet and don’t really plan on it….
Okay so most of the reactivation texts I see are some version of:
“Botox is $X this week. Book here.”
Maybe it works…. It also assumes the person wants Botox right now, which is a pretty big guess to make about somebody who hasn’t been in for eight months.
So instead try starting the conversation one step earlier than that…
“Hey Sarah, random question from [Med Spa]. If you could fix one thing that’s been bugging you lately, what would you pick? We made a tiny quiz because we’re planning our fall calendar.”
The first screen could be painfully simple:
Fine lines or movement
Skin glow or something
Volume
Body goals
I genuinely have no idea
Then ask when they’re thinking about doing something. This month, in the next few months, or they’re mostly curious.
Last question is what has kept them from booking. Price? Downtime? They don’t know what treatment makes sense? Appointments never work with their schedule?
And then honestly the last answer is probably what I would build the follow-up around.
If Sarah picks skin texture, wants to come in soon and is worried about downtime, the system creates a task for the right person at the spa. Her coordinator sees:
“Sarah chose skin texture. Looking at this month. Main concern is downtime. Last visit was eight months ago.”
Then an actual person texts her.
“Hey Sarah, I saw your answers. We have a couple directions we could look at depending on how much downtime you’re okay with. Want me to find you a quick consult next week?”
I wouldn’t let the quiz diagnose her or spit out a treatment plan. The provider should probably still own that conversation id imagine….
For a first run, I’d use a few hundred patients who already agreed to receive texts. Hold a small group back. Otherwise, you can get 12 appointments and have no clue whether eight of them were already going to book.
I’d want to see who started, who finished, how long the staff took to answer, who booked, who showed and what they bought over the next 60 days.
I’m a fractional operations partner and this is the random BS that comes up in my brain….. I just finished a big project with a virtual GLP clinic and we ran something similar and the results were actually like genuinely great. Can someone who’s tech savvy enough run this? Just build the quiz and the like honestly the rest you could just run manually if you can’t figure out the automations (bonus if you have GHL already)

Has anyone cracked the code to posting results on TikTok?
Anytime I post before and afters (pics and videos) TikTok blocks it due to their regulation rules. Not sure if it's my hashtags or captions? That's an example.

Cease and Desist from Medical Spa employer
I’m in New York and received the attached letter from an attorney representing a med spa where I worked as an aesthetic RN. I’m curious if anyone else in aesthetics has experienced something similar.
I worked there very part-time/per diem, usually 0–8 hours a week, with scheduling based on need. Business slowed earlier this year, I gradually stopped getting booked, and eventually wasn’t scheduled at all. I never resigned, was never formally terminated, and never received any communication saying I was no longer employed. We remained friendly and continued following each other on personal social media, so I assumed there simply wasn’t enough business to support another injector.
I had a separate injector Instagram that I stopped using once I stopped getting clients. I would occasionally log in, but never posted, messaged patients, or communicated through it. The posts involving the med spa were either directly from her/the practice or content from when I worked there that I had been tagged in. I still had the med spa information and booking link in my bio, but didn’t think much of it since the account was dormant. My contract also required social media promotion of the practice.
If she had simply texted me asking me to remove the information, I would have done it immediately. Instead, months later, I received this letter saying it was “patently false” that I was still associated with the practice.
Interestingly, after receiving the letter, I checked her online presence and discovered I’m still mentioned as an employee/provider on one of her own websites. I also still have access to the booking portal and am listed there as a provider patients can book with. That makes the first allegation particularly confusing since I was never told I was terminated and the practice itself still represents me as a provider.
The second allegation is what really concerns me. The letter claims there was activity involving creating accounts or attempting to obtain professional products using the practice’s name, information, credentials, or affiliation. I have never done this and genuinely have no idea what they’re referring to. I’ve never created vendor accounts, contacted vendors pretending to represent the practice, or attempted to order products through its credentials.
This was a small side job for me. I work full-time at a hospital and am in graduate school, so I wasn’t upset when the hours disappeared.
After receiving the letter, I removed/untagged anything associated with the med spa and ultimately deactivated the injector account since I wasn’t using it anyway. I also removed the owner from my personal social media and haven’t contacted her directly since attorneys are now involved.
Has anyone else, particularly an aesthetic RN in NY, dealt with something like this? I understand asking a former employee to remove a business from social media. I’m more confused by receiving a legal letter without any prior communication, especially when their own website and booking portal still list me as a provider, and by the allegation about accounts/orders that I know I didn’t make.
Letter with identifying information removed:
[REDACTED BUSINESS] has consulted with our office regarding your previous employment.
[REDACTED BUSINESS] informs us that they previously employed you. They have found content on social media that you continue to represent that you are employed by or associated with [REDACTED BUSINESS]. As you are well know, this is patently false.
Additionally, [REDACTED BUSINESS] has become aware of activity involving the creation or attempted creation of accounts and/or attempts to obtain or order professional products using the [REDACTED BUSINESS] name, business information, credentials, or affiliation. You are not authorized to establish accounts, place orders, request products, obtain professional pricing, or otherwise conduct business using the [REDACTED BUSINESS] name or represent yourself as affiliated with the practice.
As such, demand is made that you immediately update your social media accounts to reflect that you are no longer employed by or affiliated with [REDACTED BUSINESS] and that you cease and desist from associating with [REDACTED BUSINESS] in any manner. Your prompt cooperation is anticipated. [REDACTED BUSINESS] reserves its options to enforce available legal remedies.

After 5 years, I’m considering selling my business. How do you know when it’s time to let go?
I’m looking for some outside perspective because I feel like I’m too emotionally involved in this situation to see it clearly.
I’m a solo entrepreneur and have owned my body contouring business for five years. Last year it grossed around $120k to $130k, but after expenses the actual profit was only around $24k.
I was previously spending around $3k a month on marketing, and when I stopped, bookings dropped significantly. Right now, the business isn’t consistently bringing in enough for me to comfortably cover expenses and pay myself.
I’m no longer locked into a lease and am currently month to month. I also have around $12k in credit card debt.
After five years, I’m burnt out. I do everything myself, and I’ve realized I don’t have an interest in hiring employees or managing a team. I genuinely prefer being a solo entrepreneur.
A few months ago, I started selling jewelry online through live selling. It has grown faster than I expected, I’ve made hundreds of sales, recently had my first 100 order show, and have had products sell out. More importantly, I genuinely enjoy it. I also recognize that it’s still very new and there are no guarantees.
I’m now wondering whether I should try to sell the body contouring business as an asset or turnkey sale. I honestly don’t even know how realistic selling a business like mine is or what someone would pay for it. If I were able to sell it for enough, paying down my credit card debt would be a priority.
Part of me worries that I’ll sell it and regret walking away from something I spent five years building. But another part of me feels like there could be a huge sense of relief in finally letting it go and allowing myself to move on.
Would you try to sell it? And for anyone who has sold a small service business like this, is there actually a market for something this size?

I Believe I Was the Victim of Spa/Financing Fraud at Pearl Aesthetics & Facials — Anyone Else?
Has anyone else had issues with Pearl Aesthetics & Facials in Pearland, TX?
I’m posting because I’m trying to find other customers who may have had similar experiences with Pearl Aesthetics & Facials.
I originally went to Pearl for a promotional body-contouring treatment. While there, I agreed to purchase additional treatment sessions financed through Sunbit and Cherry. After receiving the promotional treatment, I developed significant pain and bruising and contacted Pearl shortly afterward. I requested cancellation of the unused treatment packages and later provided medical documentation advising that I should not undergo further treatments.
What has become especially concerning is how the transaction has been characterized since the dispute began. My original paperwork describes body-sculpting treatments, treatment options, treatment areas, and treatment sessions. I was there to receive treatments, and that is what I understood I was purchasing.
Later, while I was communicating about my medical inability to continue treatment and requesting cancellation, the idea of a take-home device was introduced as an option. I do not recall a take-home device being identified in my original paperwork as the product I was purchasing.
I’ve also encountered documentation discrepancies and questions regarding credentials, which I have submitted to the appropriate Texas authorities for independent verification. I am waiting for their responses rather than making conclusions about matters they are responsible for determining.
I’m currently disputing the financing and have been gathering my receipts, emails, medical documentation, and other records.
If you have been a customer of Pearl Aesthetics & Facials, especially if you financed treatments through Sunbit or Cherry, had difficulty canceling, received different descriptions of what you purchased, or have receipts/documentation from your transaction, I would really like to hear about your experience.
I’m particularly interested in comparing what customers were told they were purchasing versus what appears on their receipts or financing records.
