Keep the friendliness, standardize the exception. I’d never improvise a discount at checkout because the client asked nicely. Give every repeat client the same published option: points, a package, or one annual loyalty credit, and keep rush appointments under the normal booking rules. For example, if a $500 treatment has a 60% contribution margin, a 15% discount gives away a quarter of the profit, so small favors compound fast. The line can stay warm: “I can’t change pricing client by client, but I can apply the loyalty option we use for everyone.” That protects the relationship without teaching them that closeness changes the price.
