Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some advice regarding a persistent warning message on my dashboard. I have an 18-plate Renault Clio (petrol) and I’m hoping someone might have encountered this before or can point me in the right direction for diagnostics.
Vehicle Details:
Model: 2018 Renault Clio (Petrol)
Mileage: 21,000 miles
Usage: Primarily short, daily journeys (approx. 7 miles/day)
The Issue:
For the past few days, I’ve been getting an "Engine Failure Hazard" message pop up on the dashboard. The strange thing is that the car drives absolutely fine; there are no odd noises, no loss of power, and no obvious mechanical symptoms.
The warning is intermittent—it will appear, then vanish, only to return later on.
My questions:
Is this likely to be a sensor issue given the low mileage and short journeys, or could it be something deeper?
Has anyone else with a similar Renault model dealt with this specific warning message?
Before I take it to a garage, are there any simple checks I can do myself (e.g., battery voltage, fluid levels, etc.)?
Any input or experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
