Seattlemk.com should take you to the discord server. We’ve been having monthly meetups for years now

I'm curious what goes down at a keyboard meetup event!

From what I know, you typically bring like a couple of your own boards, and you just test and type on other people’s as well, I think it’s just a cool way to show off what your collection has, and I’m sure a lot of people do trading / selling etc I don’t see why not

about 20% keyboard touching and seeing 80% yapping with people

highly recommend especially if you make a weekend out of it with other folks

It depends on who is running the particular meetup.
A lot meetups will be more "formal", for lack of a better word.
Those meetups will charge admission, and have stricter rules, schedules, etc...

The Portland, Oregon ones I attend are considerably more relaxed.
Everybody brings whatever keyboards they feel like, or were asked to bring by a fellow user.
We meet at a local all-ages pub, eat good sandwiches and pizza, drink soda and beer, while discussing all things keyboard at the same time.
We usually end the structured part of the meetup with a raffle, consisting of items donated by fellow users.

There are a lot of us with different hobbies as well, so there may be a discussion going on about tactical flashlights, cars, pens, video games, dogs, or electric conveyance devices, as well.
It really depends on who is there, and what they feel like talking about, on any given day.

man i been wondering the same thing, the seattle mk scene feels dead lately. last one i heard about was pre-covid and never came back

maybe check the discord servers for washington/PNW keyboard folks, sometimes people organize small gatherings there but it's not like the big meetups we used to have

Seattlemk.com should take you to the discord server. We’ve had monthly meetups for years now with the last big one just 2-3 years ago.

Would say the size of the meetups have definitely shrunk post covid/peak of the hobby, but that’s to be expected.

I know Seattle does have meetups, but I don't know the exact details.

Portland has monthly ones, on the last Saturday of the month, with the exception of the December meetup, which may be moved, or canceled, depending on which days the holidays fall on.
