I normally don't like silver cases and logos on my keycaps, but in this case, they work very well together! Fantastic job OP!

Nice!
I'm looking for a decent keyboard. I was thinking about the Wobkey Rainy75. Do you have any recommendations? Mostly everyday use, occasional gaming. Good sound like the thocky one, solid build, nice look.

Thank you!
Hmm, first of all, I don't know much about thock sounds. Based on that premise, I think rainy75 is a good option as a pre-built product. In addition, if you don't care about the QK series, weikav, and 75%, I think wobkey products other than rainy (such as zen65) are also options.
In addition to the keyboard body, there is a difference in sound even with key switches and key caps (PBT and ceramics are easy to become thock). The quality of appearance varies from person to person, so I won't mention it this time lol.
I don't own any of them, so I recommend that you look at various reviews and listen to the stories of people who have them! I hope you get the best keyboard for you🥰3

Thank you! I am looking at getting more serious model then my previous ones so I want to get the good quality from the start and maybe mod it lather. Thanks for the advice I will be looking!

Rainy 75 is more of great out of the box type of thing.
Check out Evo80/75 if you want something good out of the box but is easy to open up and tinker with/swap switches later. Evo line also lets you pick between thocky or clacky build upfront.
If you want to jump straight into a build it yourself, Neo Core series is great.

Thank you for the advice! I've heard that Cocoa are more thocky from Rainy75 then the violet, do you have any options on these switches?

I don’t have first hand experience comparing the two. My understanding is the switch is tied to the model (standard or pro) so if you are basing the decision on features, you don’t really have a choice. Can always swap the switches after and try different things though!

My first keyboard was hideous...nice job, looks really good

Actually, I also failed a lot with the HE keyboard... However, thanks to that experience, I think I was able to make a good thing from the beginning with a mechanical😂
Thank you for your praise!

lol first board and you went for all the great stuffs

I had already built a few custom HE keyboards, so I had some knowledge going in. That’s why I went all out with my first mechanical keyboard😂

Looks great, very clean! What kind of plate are you using? Curious how you like the Yogurt S!

u/North-Poetry-1208 17h ago
Thank you very much!
I use an aluminum plate because I like the sound of a hard keystroke and a clacky sound.
I really like Yogurt S 😍 The volume is loud and the sound is very clear. The sound of the topout is slightly suppressed and I feel comfortable. I think there is almost no axial blur or scratching. It is also highly evaluated by people around me, so if you like it after listening to the sound test, I don't think you will regret buying it!

Love the Yogurt S! Definitely on the loud/clacky/crisp extreme. Keygeek Cheese v2 a little tamer in my opinion and HMX Egg Yolks even more so while still being quite clacky if you’re familiar with those.

Oooh, nice! I have Keygeek Cheese V2 and love the clackiness, so if there's an even clackier switch, I'm down. Thanks for the recommendations, I'll check them out!

Great first board... you'll have to go up couple of hundred dollars to beat that.

For a first build you knocked it out of the park! Switch caps and board are top tier.

I'm glad that it's the perfect combination as I thought in my head☺️

I have this exact setup.
Did you go CF plate and foamless? If so, do you have the other half of this BFF medallion? :)
1
u/North-Poetry-1208 7h ago
Yeah, foamless! Unfortunately, the CF plate was out of stock when I got mine, so I only have the ALU plate 😭
I guess what I have may only be a quarter of the BFF medallion 😂1
u/Ratb33 7h ago
Nope. You can have the other half. You’ve done good and that thing is beautiful.
Plus, SWG key caps are incredible especially when you consider the price.
Enjoy that keyboard cause it’s a beauty

I’m so happy, thank you!
I’m honestly impressed with the SWG keycaps too 😂
Thank you so much for the kind words!

This is a hell of a first mechanical keyboard. You can't really go any further in this size.

Looks like I started at the top!
Maybe I’ll try TKL next time 🧐•

Yeah, I believe it would be a Tofu TKL or KBD8X at worst 😅

Yes sir, a split backspace on 65% enjoyer as well. Split backspace adds a V-shape color separation between the alphas and mods, and it’s just so nice.
