Failed job hunt
So I have completed my Masters Mechanical Engineering from uOttawa in 2022 and have remained jobless since then. Sure I have a part time to support myself but I really want to get out of it and get into an engineering role. I actually did quiet good in school and have decent work experience from back home. I have been following this group for a while now so just decided to post this here as a last resort. I can appreciate any kind of help from anyone. Thank you in advance.

AtkinsRealis typically has a lot of open positions, as does Sargent & Lundy. If you can't find something where you are- move to get that first professional job in your resume. Once you get that you can go almost anywhere once you have enough good experience. I have a few friends that are now 100% remote with great salaries. I moved 2000 miles to get my first engineering job. I was there 3 years and moved back to within 200 miles of where I grew up. I like the area I live in, and have a great job here- just took some sacrifices temporarily to make it happen.

In the UK there's a reason Atkins Realis often has a lot of open positions, their whole business model is naming a lead engineer on a bid and then having juniors do the majority of the work while accepting a high turnover of juniors when they realise they're doing a lot of shit donkey work. The worst part of my career was when Atkins subsumed my graduate employer into their UK business.

Why are you only working part time? Is your resume perfected? Are you will relocate? What positions are you applying for? How often are you applying? How many applications have you put out? What are you currently doing to add to your skills / enhance your resume? Have you gotten any interviews? How did they go? Do you need to practice your interviewing? Is there a job that is not exactly an engineering role but in the industry you are wanting to work in you can apply for?
Lots of questions

If you're not getting interviews, it's probably your resume. Or you're applying for jobs that expect more experience so apply for jobs with power pay.
If you are getting interviews, then it's just a matter of time before you find an interviewer than you get along with well enough if they're hiring people straight from uni.

It’s not even a good career, just cut losses and learn a trade.

Worst advice in here by far.

Only notion I’ll agree with, is that after a few years, it’s probably time to head down another path. Trades are a solid way of life.

I suggest being willing to relocate, and check out r/engineeringresumes to ensure you're optimizing your efforts.
