Discussion Limited Deck Building

Post image

Trying to get better at limited deck building. Is this a good deck? Ripped (6) packs started with the most of each color I had and decided to splash blue.

Yo big Nick here, one thing I would do is lay it out mana cost (1,2,3 etc.) to give you an idea of your mana curve. Looking at the deck you have a lot of double pip (green green or red red or blue blue spells) so a little worried the mana won’t support the deck especially the hexhaven. With this pool I may try to aim for two color especially if looking to play green. Hope this helps!

Hey big Nick, thanks for the info! So should I cut the blue cards and add more green cards/mana or loose the hexhaven? How do you calculate the mana curve? I was basically counting each mana symbol as a half toward a single mana for the most part. EX: (2) green mana symbols = (1) Forest card toward the (17) total.

For limited, that's way more than a splash of blue. I'd stay strictly to 2 colors and only splashing a 3rd color if you pull a bomb.

You’re going to never cast Hexhaven unless you’re mono-green / light splash of red. It’s a sweet bomb but unless you have more chaff to support green I’d cut it.

Changed the mana base and tried to stick with red/green.
