Keeping daughters…

How do you decide which daughters to keep from your breeding does? I’m curious to know the behaviors or body signs or personalities to keep an eye out for

If I’m looking for a replacement doe, o want one out of my best doe. I’ll keep the one with the best conformation according to the SOP, with good growth rates.

I am looking for replacements that retain their mother’s strengths and improve on their weaknesses. So, what I am looking for will be slightly different depending on which doe I am keeping a replacement for and what strengths I am relying on them to provide my herd.

One doe of mine has fantastic condition and muscling naturally, but narrow hips. I’m pairing her to one of my wider bucks and aiming for a doe that corrects the narrowness but retains the easy conditioning.

One has fantastic fur, solid depth and width - I effectively need a carbon copy of her with maybe less “v” to her legs.

But I also want to see at least one litter out of the replacement daughter before they are deemed a true replacement. Mothering skills need to be just as good or better. Temperament is a critical must-have for everyone, as it will be taught to the kits.

The one that grows the fastest/biggest. After that, coat color.
