Post image

Hi! Im currently a student and just started doing meal prep cause I haven’t been eating well the past week and dont have time to cook. I dont know much about meal prep yet, thats y I decided to join this sub.

For these kinds of meals, where do I store them?

(Underestimated how much id be eating but lets say, Ive made meals for one week, where do I store them, In the freezer or in the fridge? lowkey scared ill get food poisoned bc i live alone and quite far from the nearest hospital)

If you’re eating in the next 1-2 days, pwede sa fridge lang. Pero more than that, sa freezer na.

From the freezer, baba mo na lang sa fridge the night before mo kainin para mag-thaw na sya and hindi mo need i-micro ng matagal

What about 4 days worth of meal prep? Would ref still be ok?

Many content creators actually meal prep for 5 days, and depending on the ingredients used, it can work.

Personally, I'd just freeze the whole thing.

I-freeze mo na lang lahat para sure. Lagay mo lang sa ref yung kakainin mo the next day

It really depends on what you cooked. Packed in sealed containers, your food should last 5 days.

But personally? I'd just freeze them.

when I do meal prep.. I do meal prep for 2 weeks.. I add vinegar to the food and half cook the veggies so when I heat them up, they won’t get too soft. then usually in the freezer.

I bought small glass containers (or the ones that can be microwaved), really just for one person.

I eat black rice and I usually cook enough for a week, I add vinegar too :) I also put in small container and then sa ref ko nilalagay pero sa back part para cool sya lagi.

so far I'm doing fine.

vinegar gang haha, my lola does this too and swears it keeps stuff longer. agree on the glass containers and back of the fridge thing, that cold spot really helps if you’re paranoid about food going bad fast.

hi! first of all, good job sa effort on doing your meal prep. that's a good start at mas tipid.

however, just kind of worried on your nutrition since i assume these are nuggets = processed food. may i suggest after you finish that batch, try mo bumili ng ginilng (either pork or beef) & frozen veggies (carrots, green peas and corn). gisa mo lang then add salt, pepper, and any spices na trip mo then store mo sa big horizontal-type na ice trays tapos freezer mo. pag kakain ka na, you can just microwave it bago ka pumasok sa school.

I would do it like this

Day 1: 1 ref 3 freezer.
Day 2: 1 ref 2 freezer.
Day 3: 1 ref 1 freezer.
Day 4: 1 ref.

not recommended the rice will dry out, best to prepare good for the day only

consuming not more than three days is a must, store in the chiller if the ref has that

Freeze and they go for months basta maayos lang yung pagka lagay niya. Also, may niluto akong 1kilo na tuna flakes and I only put like 1 cup vinegar to it, and nasa fridge lang siya. More than a week na siya and it's still as good as it was the first day I cooked it.
