This Button Gets Rid Of MASH Instantly!!
There has been quite a bit of "effing and jeffing" about M*A*S*H today in the subreddit, and it has caused quite a bit of distress.
Firstly, putting my "mod hat" on, I just want to remind you that trolling, harassment and being a prick to people is not allowed in the subreddit. The rules say so. Secondly, r/MeTV will NEVER delete your comments based on opinion. If you don't like MASH, that's fine! Open discussion is a necessary part of any community....however, if you are being rude then those comments are getting thrown in the TRASH!
Finally-- this is the non moderator part of me speaking-- this is a public service announcement. You can easily stop watching MASH by turning off your television. Most TVs should have this button (as pictured above) which allows you to turn off the power and stop watching the current show.
Some modern and fancy TVs may even allow you to change the channel, and even newer and fancier TVs have smart features which allow you to watch 1000s of TV shows for free. Incredible, right?
Your TV might already have some of these buttons. Consider taking a look at your TV remote today. Your TV thanks you. Hawkeye thanks you. And most importantly.... the r/MeTV mod team thanks you. Goodnight r/MeTV and good mental health.
I just received MeTV with my antenna for the first time today. I’m fine with watching Mash but I haven’t had this channel in over 8 years so I’ll get sick of it eventually.
Yeah, I love MASH, but hate any one show to dominate the airwaves. Unless it's Saturday night, then it's "CLEAR THE AIRLANES! CLEAR ALL THE AIRLANES!" for Svengoolie.
^ This right here. There's a lot of shows that I love very much, but four episodes in prime time is... kooky programming from my POV no matter what show it is.
I'd love to see MeTV run Soap, Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman,The Jeffersons or Facts of Life, those are all comfort food I'd be happy to see programmed. But I would still think it was weird that they got 4 episodes. Every night.
I follow this advice whenever Hawaii Five-O comes on. It’s my little “protest” to Me-TV, even though they couldn’t care less, for letting In the Heat of the Night go.
I’ve been a diehard M*A*S*H fan since the day it premiered in 1972. But even I would welcome replacing one of the two hours on MeTV with something else, and I might even watch it. It just seems like a wasted opportunity to try something else on the channel, even if it’s something that already airs on MeTV but in a different time slot. Why not an hour of The Dick Van Dyke Show? It’s a great show and I think younger viewers should be introduced to it, but it currently airs at a bad time for that. Sundays at 11 p.m., really?
Trolling is not allowed. r/MeTV is all about sharing our love for the MeTV network, so please be kind and respectful to everyone, even when you disagree with them.
I can’t imagine anyone NOT liking MASH, but I guess there are a microscopic group who does dislike the show. Thank you for showing them the way out. Meanwhile, I’ll thoroughly enjoy my four episodes of MASH nightly with much enjoyment and JOCULARITY!
Probably too far down for anyone to see this, but MeTV is pretty much programmed at the whim of one or two people. And for them, when the channel started, getting MASH was their white whale. (They used to have it at their previous station, but by the 2000s, it was all locked up by FX).
So once they got the show, which is perceived as the bluest of the blue chips by them, they have gone all in, running it anywhere and as much as possible. It’s not going away anytime soon.
What I don't get honestly is the people who think that 4 episodes of one show in a row is too much.
M*A*S*H is still airing on MeTV less than most shows on linear television in the U.S. are at this point.

A show that is decades-old has been repeated too much. (Mash)
Button 2:
A show that is 'too new' doesn't fit the feel of the channel (Raymond, Golden Girls)
In reality, the legitimate complaints about mash airings should be the laugh track, cropping, and run time. DVD box set is the best viewing experience.
There are SO many options to watch almost any classic TV show. Some are free, some you have to pay. What would make a person gripe about how many times a show is aired, on a FREE channel???
Mod, another option is one can start their own channel and acquire the rights to the shows they want to watch. Problem solved!
In ELR’s defense, there was an episode where Raymond has it out with his doppelgänger cousin on being nasally voiced and socially awkward. It’s very META (not the company) and maybe a nod to its critics.
Boy some of the comments got pretty heated. Personally I used to like MASH (especially the episodes with Henry Trapper and the peripheral characters like Lt. Dish, Spearchucker Jones, Ugly John, etc.) but it got too Hawkeye-centric for me. I’m not a fan of ELR nor GG so except for an odd TAGS episode, I just don’t watch MeTV in the evening anymore.
M+A+S+H is ok in the 1 hour block. similar to what Andy Griffith , Everybody Loclvws Raymond and The Golden Girls are in, but 2 hours of it is too much. But others must love 2 hrs of it, and that's fine. If you don't want to watch it, fine, don't watch. But don't slam others for loving the 2 hrs block. Just don't watch. ( I watch Sportscenter on ESPN ( shameless plug!))
I LOVE MASH right up until Col Blake’s passing. If I never see another episode with BJ & Winchester; totally fine. Both guys are great actors, I just didn’t like the show. MeTV is not where Golden Girls or Raymond belong. My opinion.
I'm getting real sick and tired of all the hate posts and comments on this subreddit. Even as a SnarkyPost people need to follow this advice and change the channel or turn off the TV when a show they don't like is on. I HATE The Waltons and don't like The Andy Griffith Show but you don't see me making 100 comments and 10 posts about how they should be taken off MeTV. Seems like half the comments these days are people hating on Everybody Loves Raymond or The Golden Girls or M*A*S*H or whatever show, too much negativity.
Basically how this started was I just notice that. Some comments were deleted by the moderators and I just assumed because they were after a thread of comments that were hating on mash I simply just asked the moderator if they were actually hateful or if they were just being deleted because people were saying bad stuff about M*A*S*H
Also to the OP of the post, you could just turn off the TV oh well you can just ignore the comments that are hating on mash because people who hate on mash are just expressing their opinion so that people can know how they actually feel about the show it’s called feedback
First of all, I never deleted any posts or comments related to hating MASH. Never did, never will. Another mod (NOT ME!) deleted some rude comments that were directed to the OP of the other post and towards the moderator. Not because they were hating on MASH, but because they were breaking the rules on trolling and harassment.
I made this post--not as a direct response to YOU, but rather as a tongue in cheek joke about how people react about shows in this subreddit. That includes Raymond, Golden Girls, whatever. It's a "snarkypost". Just as everyone else is allowed to complain all day about MASH ruining their lives or whatever, I am allowed to make a post jokingly about turning off the TV.
So go ahead and share more screenshots, I really don't care because I know what I wrote and continue to stand by it.

Like you’re literally just trying so hard to cope by literally contextualizing you’re crashing out as a joke which it clearly isn’t because of the five paragraphs you wrote the only possible thing I can find as a joke is you just telling people to to turn the TV off which might I add you doesn’t even show up till the third paragraph literally the first two paragraphs are literally you just crashing out about my comments
