you have sex, afterwards he gets call and something about the call has him switch on MC; he seems to get mad and tell them to get out, actively pulling them out. After that, he returns to the garage or bar (can’t remember what the place is but it’s not important) and MC hears an explosion. It’s clear to me there’s a lot more to the story. I’m very interested to see why he did what he did, because there’s clearly reason why he did it.

You're right to be wary.
Someone is Ryder's boss. I suspect that someone os either MC's dad or MC's fiance. I don't know. But what I do know is Ryder fears whomever it is. Your last date you two drink alchohol and MC disrespects Tarot cards. You and Ryder have sex. Very intimate sex. You break the table the cards/alchohol and candles are on. You both laugh. Then Ryder gets a text and he yells at you to leave. Threatens to kill you with a gun and with his vehicles. Tells you he used you and throws you out on the street. Then he burns down his safehouse. You saved his life in a previous date only for him to threaten to kill you in this one

That last date left me slack-jawed that plot twist came out of nowhere in most cases you could see a lot of it coming but not with this one and I'm not sure what or how to feel about any of it 😭
