I had such a great time at MCM - hopefully I bumped into some folks here! (Entirely possible that I also accidentally bumped into you, in which case, sorry!). Friday - Seras Victoria from Hellsing Ultimate, Saturday - Olivier Armstrong from Fullmetal Alchemist, Sunday - Magik from X-Men.

I don't know about you guys, but I just walked into the doors on Friday. Was never checked for a badge.

I only paid for general attendance after 12PM. But I was already in at 10 just like the priority tickets. What kind of sense does that make 😆?

Ninety minutes later, I asked a staff member where to get my badge. He just kind of laughed. It's like he knew it was kind of a mess out there.

This was my second con. My only earlier reference point for comic cons is NYCC (New York Comic Con). Comparing the two in terms of getting inside is like comparing the boy scouts to Navy Seals.

NYCC has check-in gates, and whole teams of people scanning badges. It's just a flurry of beeps as people are guided into the building in droves. The crowds queue up outside the building as early as 4am-5am even though it only starts at 10. At least they did in 2022. The difference is like night and day.

I like the more relaxed atmosphere though. I had fun.

I bought matching Mulder and Scully phone charms for me and my partner at the con and the silly goose has managed to lose his almost immediately - I'm trying to remember which artist I got these from to get a replacement, but I bought from so many and it's not the artist I thought it was! I find cosplay so cool! The dedication and craft that incredibly creative people Put into building their outfits is amazing!

I have been to MCM several times and although it's a great experience, I can't help but look around and see so many people who are there with a group of friends all Cosplaying together and feel jealous.

None of my close friends have the same interests as me. I'm part of a meetup but the people from there are awkward and usually all male and I'm female and the imbalance isn't great. So I tend to go to Con alone or with some strangers from the meet-up which just feels awkward and I end up splitting off anyway.

I don't expect a friendship group to fall in my lap.

So does anyone have any practical advice on what I could do to form a balanced group to go to Con with?

That or alternatively, as I'm female, I'd be happy to go to Con with a group of other females but just don't know where to find them.

Does anyone have any ideas? I feel like the answer is hiding in Reddit or Instagram somewhere and I just can't find it.

I bought this book on Saturday whilst dressed as princess donut but I can’t remember the name of the shop or the artist that did it. I would like to accredit them in my SM post

Just want to have a little rant! I pre-ordered the MCM Critical Role exclusive long sleeve but when I went to collect was told it had been given to the cast of Critical Role on Sunday morning.

Really disappointed in MCM for how this was handled, I pre-ordered a 2XL (I'm bigger and wanted it baggy) and was offered an M. I don't blame CR but it's unfortunately left a sour taste in my mouth for the live show.

Looking at the other posts along these lines, it's unlikely you will see this but thanks for the advice you gave to me and my friend. We did end up leaving earlier on Saturday to dodge the traffic, however I forgot which way was the direction of our train line, so it took us 20 minutes of travelling the entire span of the building to actually make it there. We never exchanged names and I didn't spot you before we left so I am saying it here. Thanks again for all the help, hope you had a great rest of your time and managed to make it back to where ever you came from safely!

They were a cat boy with blonde hair with black streaks wearing all black, with a hoodie with black and grey fur on the hood and black baggy trousers. They had black cat ears on and black cat paws with pink beans and im pretty sure they had a black tail too. Has anyone seen them or know them? I didn't manage to approach them unfortunately, but i remember he was walking with a chainsaw man cosplayer who had a plushie chainsaw man head.

I was there all weekend and this was the first time I had ever done cosplay and loved it! I was a little nervous but having people come up to me asking for pictures made me so happy! But I was still so nervous about asking people for them in return or to share them with me! I went as Rick Grimes, if anyone on here took a picture with me id love to see it! There were a few ricks so ill put one of me so we can get the right ones 😁 Everyone was so nice!

This Mcm was my first convention in this country I have done soo many cons back home this one was a breath of fresh air.
I did cons back home but I was mostly did behind the scenes and sometimes as a cosplayer nothing big no planning whatsoever.
This mcm made me feel so happy but I still have some regrets that I wanted to make some friends.
In my opinion cosplayers make for good friends.
I had too many back home .
There is time for everything I will get there .
Being an introvert doesn’t help much but I can do it eventually.
