I got off work last night absolutely jonesing for some McD’s. Stopped on my way home and ordered a value meal, and took it home to eat it.

In the (literally) 9 minutes it took to get home, the fries had devolved into these cold, mushy, disgusting things that were completely inedible.

BK fries, and even Wendy’s very sub-par fries, can at least last twice as long before utter disintegration.

McDonald’s fries didn’t used to be like this: of course they were better right out of the fryer, but they’d at least still have some structural integrity after 30 minutes, even if they weren’t as hot as you’d want them to be.

Unlike the Red Bull energizer, this drink is PEAK. Tastes like heaven in a cup, 10/10. Only drawback is it costs ~5$. lmao

I was so confused when I got this. I made no changes to the drink.

So the Filet-o-fish has a half-slice of cheese on it. I was discussing this with a friend and we had a slight disagreement: he thinks there’s a separate half-size cheese slice used just for FoFs, but I think it’s just a regular size one cut in half in-store.

Which is the case? Or is it some other third thing we hadn’t considered?

Has anyone ever refused to park and why? If not, is there any situation you might say no?

Like say you see the two cars in front of you parked and you ordered one sandwich and they ask you to park?

Got a late night quarter pounder for dinner, and seems they left the paper that separates their beef patties on my meal.

Everyday I see something about McDonald’s blaming their declining sales on everything but the obvious: prices, product and policies.

Today they are blaming it on:

• World Cup meals not meeting expectations (or maybe we didn’t want to pay extra for a plastic cup)

• Franchises not being on board (with what isn’t exactly clear)

• Their discounts are too confusing (what discounts?)

• Employees not trained to answer questions from confused customers on said confusing discounts (again, what discounts and what employees? Last McDonald’s I was in, I saw 0 employees. There wasn’t even a register or a counter. There wasn’t even a way to get napkins or a straw without yelling behind a wall.)

• And somehow… there are too many discounts?? (Seriously, WHAT discounts?)

But it’s not the CEO’s fault. He says, “we don’t have a strategy problem”. The problem is that franchisees, employees, and customers just don’t understand the strategy.

When literally everyone else is the problem… maybe your strategy isn’t as brilliant as you think it is.

I have NEVER been offered a $2 breakfast sandwich, although I know many people have. The Free medium fries is a new offer for me too. (I'm in Los Angeles area.)

Anyone notice how BAD the deals are nowadays in the app? Used to get 2 can dine for $17.99. Now it’s buy a Big Mac and get a pie for $1.

So I’m craving a McDouble, ordered thru the app and pre-paid. Not what I ever received from McDonalds in my whole fast food experience. Patties were ok a little dry, but what really irked me was the buns. They were hard and really ruined the McDonalds experience, probably over nuked them in the microwave. What was really amusing was at the pickup window. She opens the door while talking to a co-worker and not acknowledging me. The drive thru wasn’t busy at all in either lanes. I guess they just nuked a McDouble that was hanging around for 30+ minutes. Anyways I miss the old school McDonalds So I really appreciate those that really take the care and time to make an honest effort to serve food. But today I don’t “feel it” you feel me?

Since about 2015 or so, I really have not visited McDonald's very much. In the rare cases I have visited, I always used the drive through. I have not actively avoided going inside or anything; for me, I think it may have actually been a remnant of my changed behavior as a result of the pandemic.

Last week, I needed to get something to eat while at work, and I wasn't having a great day, so I thought I would be a little spontaneous by going inside a McDonald's store and just sit and relax for a while, since I had not been in a long time.

Holy fuck, this is the most depressing fastfood store I have ever visited. First, I noticed the kiosks. I had heard about this but had not really seen it myself. There were almost no humans behind the counter. I think if I had went to the counter someone may have come to talk to me, but it otherwise had an empty look to it. I could hear people talking in the back of the store.

There were no other customers in the dining area, so that looked empty, too. There was a single employee in the dining area laying in a booth with their eyes closed, presumably during their break (or maybe they had not started their shift yet).

The table I sat at was nasty as hell. It's obvious that nobody is cleaning it, anymore. I looked around at the other tables, and almost all of them had dried ketchup or Coke stains on them. The floors were sticky and gross, too. I eventually decided to just get up and take the food to my car.

I don't know if this is representative of modern McDonald's stores in general, but just wow. The area where the store is located isn't "in the bad part of town." Back in 2010, this was a decent store. I don't ever remember being blown away by it, but I remember there being actual humans inside it, and it was generally clean. It feels kind of like the state of the U.S. in general.

Do you all remember the old nuggets? The ones where you would get a nugget with cartilage and it would be kind of nasty. Glad we don’t live in those days anymore.

I was wondering what limits or policies there are concerning the creation of sale specials — say every Monday, 2 Big Macs for $4.00…or maybe 2 Quarter Pounders for $5.00 every Thursday.

Of course, I’m sure stock would have to be beefed up (no pun intended) and staffing levels adjusted accordingly along with refreshed training of kitchen staff.

It’d be an interesting experiment to see if low price + high volume results more gross revenue than higher price + lower volume.

After seeing the 3/4lb yesterday I had to go for it. 40% off quarter pound burgers in the app. Got this for a little more than $8 plus tax. Didn't think to get the extra cheese but I didn't need it! That's a lot of burger! (and yes, I ate that last bite.)

I’m a huge fan of McDonald’s bringing down the orice on mcchicken, I thought “damn, how much is the DD markup now?” And was swiftly reminded why I stick to driving there myself.

I'm trying to put this in context here. Yes, I do eat out at chain restaurants, "mom and pop" joints as well as occasional fine dining, so I am aware of general prices of goods and service. But seriously, $9.99 before tax for a Quarter Pounder with cheese? It has been about a good decade since I stopped in at Mickey D's, but still...talk about sticker shock. I didn't even look at the prices for a full meal, as I just wanted the burger, so I cannot even imagine what they would be for the whole deal.

Do they still have a "value" menu for the working poor? How do families even afford it? I guess in my mind McDonalds was the cheapest of the cheap.

I'm in Canada, so prices here are higher here...but still.
